I know you're taking the piss but the timing of the announcement is odd.

2 FA Cups, 2 Mighty Community Shields ( <laugh> ) and runners up in the league in the last three seasons... It's a little better than sights set on fourth. Better than little clubs like Utd anyway <whistle>

... the bit where I have mentioned, for the very first time on these boards, us finishing 21 points in front of you? ... nope ...I won't need to mention it again either ... although it is proof, if any were needed, of just how far 'Pool are from a credible title challenge .. <laugh>

Arsenal pulled out because he's shown his many weaknesses against solid defences.

He would have jumped ship if the offer was still there. Leicester fans must think he's a cock for making them wait while an offer was being discussed. He's about as loyal to Leicester as a hooker is to a pimp.

... sure is <laugh> ... but the EPL trophy in the cabinet until next May and a jaunt in the Champions League might just help me to deal with the embarrassment of abject failure ... all the best for the Second Round of the new League cup btw <laugh> a local derby with Tranmere might just end up being another one of those very special Anfield nights :emoticon-0136-giggl

Ok, say we go back four years?

We've won the league and the FA cup in that time, Arsenal have still won two FA cups, the rest count for nothing.

Go back further and it shows how lacking in ambition Arsenal have become.

    Leicester are champions, Arsenal aren't.

    Why would he leave?

If Arsenal were going to win it, last season was their best chance in ages. They didn't win it.....

Stop living in the past! It's all about the last three years obviously... The post Ferguson era!

Arsenal are on a different level to that small club Utd ;)

You might have guessed I was just being a wind up with the comment you responded too!

Being serious for a moment of why a player would want to leave Leicester for Arsenal - bigger and better stadium, larger fan base, consistency at the top level (more chance over the period of a contract to play CL football and win trophies), higher wages, more prestigious players within the squad, better financed club meaning more chance of big transfers meaning more chance to play with top players and more chance to stay at the top of the game, living in London with better schools, restaurants, nightlife, museums etc...

In pretty much every way Arsenal trump Leicester as a club other than who has won the most recent league title and that is a feat unlikely to be reproduced. However I can understand why Vardy would decide to stay - it's a risk moving to another club where he might only be a squad player, he is settled and the main man where he is and the team is set up to his strengths, plus they've just given him a big contract to make the financial incentive to leave smaller. Then there is the idea that he might not fit with Arsenals style of play.

Hopefully Vadry staying at Leicester means Arsenal will now move for a better striker and one who would fit our club better.

... don't think any Leicester fans are under any illusion on this ... whilst we love Jamie Vardy for what he has done his reasons for staying are more to do with money and his social / domestic circumstances than his 'undying love' for the club - although he probably does love the place because of the incredible event that unfolded this season. All that said, it is great to have put up a marker to bigger / richer clubs to the effect that it is no longer a 'given' that 'star' players at lesser clubs can be cherry picked at will.

I agree on the last line, he's not an Arsenal type player anyway. I couldn't see him being a good fit at all unless your style changed to accommodate him as he's not the type of player to change to accommodate Arsenal, that's not his style of play.

I'm sure the restaurants, nightlife and museums can wait until he's done with football to be honest.

Envy? You're likely to embarrass British football next season and be the whipping boys of Europe <laugh>

I guess it helps Vardy focus on Iceland without Journos asking him about his club future every 5 minutes.

This doesn't show as much of a power shift as people may say, his new contract with Leicester will be near as damnit to Arsenals offer, hes pretty much guaranteed a starting spot in both the league and champions league games for us next year in a team that plays to his strengths.

Arsenals record with english talent also speaks for itself, just ask Theo Oxlade-Chambers.

The only thing thats probably hurt is Arsenals ego thinking they can land whoever they want from "lower" clubs when they snap their fingers.

... Keep hoping Skypie <laugh> ... got no concerns on the emarrassment front ... let's face it we wouldn't have to do too much to measure up to the exploits of EPL teams over the last few years ..

... plus if we should drop into the Europey I'm confident that we can aspire to the heights that Fulham, Middlesbro and Liverpool have managed ... getting our footballing arses kicked in a one sided final for lesser lights <laugh>

  17. Come the end of the season, there are going to be quite a few Leicester City players who will have wished they'd left at the start of it.

Exactly. Vardy will be training with other noobs.

I predict an even worse title defence than Chelsea, and to be honest that'll take some doing. I trust Leicester could be the ones though. A mighty failure and no more free Kasabian gigs.

    A Bit???

They used to be good but then ran out of ideas and went right down the drain.

An English Kings of Leon. But worse.
