Well instead of those being Group A, B and C, it could have been groups A, F and G (it was more an example of what groups could end up). Country/TV protection wouldn't stop Bayern dropping into the same group as Liverpool and Real Madrid if only one of those won their respective league. Country protection doesn't quite work like that for TV. For TV they pair teams from the same country up and out half in each half of the draw, as they're drawn. This year Liverpool and Arsenal were paired (and ended up in the A-D side of the draw) as were Man City and Liverpool (E-G) for TV. It's an interesting debate and doubt we will agree. I'm off to sleep and I'll respond in morning
I totally agree. In my eyes the champions of the lowest ranked country should still be ranked higher than the runners-up of the highest ranked country.
Champions of some leagues don't even automatically qualify. UEFA can't have it both ways. Either have it as "champions" or as europe's best 32 (give or take depending on the qualification rounds).
UEFA have charged Legia Warsaw for the banner... http://m.apnews.com/ap/db_307134/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=A6gFr1gq ****ing ****ers.
I though under Platini's very welcome overhaul the champions of all European leagues had the opportunity to qualify.
