    How shameful I was walking down the stairs to leave ( buses to Whitley Bay wouldn't wait in those days) as Shearer's No1 goal of his career against Everton ( scored very late on.)? Ouch!

    The noise of the fans after the goal, echoing down the stairwell will haunt me forever. Ha

    My brother missed the goal against everton cause we were at the match with my now wife and she tapped him on the knee and asked what that pigeon was doing. As he looked up shearer hits it. Still rip the piss out of him all the time for missing it

    Only ever left a game early once. Many years ago when Supermac was sent off in the last minute of an Anglo=Italian tie against Bologna ( I think) . Never ever left a game early since.

    My father did suggest before game leaving early before end of semi final in f a cup against Spuds. Strange man. He wanted to avoid rush at end of game getting out of Manchester. Aforementioned experience meant his suggestion was not agreed.
