I just don't rate Walcott at all. Fair enough, he can be unstoppable on his day but the boy relies heavily on his speed. One injury could completely ruin his career as he has no intelligence or skill to trouble defenders consistently.

He's on stupid wages as well, and represents what is bad about English football. Overpaid, overvalued, average player.

    Both would start for us.

Walcott is much improved recently. Ben Arfa is brilliant but injury challenged.

I'd take Walcott, but not at the price he'd cost nor the wages he'd want. He's not worth that much. He's good, but nothing special. Better than what we have, but better options available.

Besides, why would he leave Arsenal? They're title challengers <whistle>

    This <applause>

Would Walcott improve our squad? Yes but not much and for the money/wages he'd cost it's 100% no no. There are loads of better options out there and at a fraction of his price.

Rodgers wants to add 20 extra goals to the team. Walcott will contribute to that amount in goals and assists over the season. His pace with will give us extra cutting edge and make us very strong on the counter (with Coutinho, Henderson and Sturridge), his versatility would come in very handy and he has the same work rate and draft as Dirk Kuyt, which is some thing we lacked last season. He'd also thrive on the space created by players like Coutinho and Suarez and the through balls they play.

Sure he is not a glamorous player, he is not exceptional in all areas, he doesnt have fancy footwork, rock hard muscle or pass mastery. But he gets the job done.

Think many here are not so much talking about the short term but the long term. Once his pace guys he is one of those players who is going to be screwed. If he is sitting on 100K a week and not the player he once was, then we will once again have money rotting on the bench ( cough cough Joe Cole). This happened with Newcastle and owen, Torres and Chelsea to an extent ( lost that step and just not the same player).

  7. Walcott was very good at the start of last season but he's done ****all since. Why? He signed a new deal and thus had no motivation to perform.

I bet he performs from about Jan/Feb 2014 too #worldcupyear

Theo is 100% Michael Owen mkII! Relies on pace and only interested in money and England!
