I was wondering how Connor missed that first chance. In very slow motion, the defender actually managed to flick it away. Pity.
I think next weekend will be a big step in our evolution under Ollie and it's the type of game that in recent history we tend to make a mess off. If we come out comfortable winners (and we really should) we'll know we can properly compete regardless of who the opposition is.
those highlights made it look all one way traffic, with Leeds hardly having a chance, a very good performance.
They didn't have one attempt on target hgr. This match showed how far we've come as a team compared to Garry Monk's Tim Sherwood like cockiness. He thought he was going to turn us over when you see this tweet ... No goals against us in 180 minutes of football and only one point. Stay massive GM.
Those highlights are showing how Conor has come on too. He is doing absolutely everything except scoring When he hits "form" (which I now expect to be next season) he will be sensational. It would be nice to have a 20 goal a season striker
Sylla seems like the 'luckier' striker to me, some would say he reads the game differently but it's just a matter of time before they start bouncing in off his arse. My eldest who's more than a little fickle, idolises Conner so he must be doing something right. Podcast made reference to him enjoying his work more under Ollie, another good sign.
Improving QPR impress at Leeds – Report Sunday, 12th Mar 2017 15:57 by Clive Whittingham Ian Holloway’s vibrant QPR side played so well at fourth placed Leeds on Saturday, they ended the game disappointed to only draw. As nerves grow in this corner of Yorkshire over how a renaissance season for Leeds United might end, so the demon hope springs eternal in West London about what lies in store for Queens Park Rangers in 2017/18. Leeds, under the inspirational management of Garry Monk, had climbed to fourth in the table prior to Saturday and came into the game on an unbeaten home run of nine matches during which they’d kept eight clean sheets. But they’d been poor in a draw at Fulham during the week and QPR came to Elland Road in decent touch themselves – four wins from five matches, 11 goals from seven different scorers. You’d have to be a pretty one-eyed Yorkshireman to not admit QPR had much the better of the encounter that followed. In fact, you’d have to be the ginger knob with the Scottish accent walking past the away end in a Leeds shirt at full time doing that thing where you talk to the guy walking right next to you in a deliberately booming voice so everybody within 200 yards can hear your vitally important opinion about how Rangers had shown no ambition, come for a point and killed the game with two defensive banks set up on the edge of their own box. He’d been at a different match to me, one played out entirely in his mind. - See more at: - See more at: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/45284/#sthash.EmnmnLRg.dpuf
I've just come across this interview with Holloway that isn't from a QPR perspective. I think it's Leeds orientated but gives an interesting insight into Ollie's thoughts on football in general ...
Thought we have had one or two recently to be honest....Smithies a couple of times (of course)....and I thought Smith or Freeman more recently...or is that a different "team of the week". Anyway 10 (out of 10????) for a player we were slagging off until last week is grrrrrrrrreat. So now let us slag off Sylla this week, and he will get a hat-trick on Saturday. I will start that "Sylla, one trick pony, never ever ever scores"..that should do it
