You heard it here first. Leeds will have nothing to play for, we have it all to play for and will win. I'll be putting £20 on this as the odds will be very decent. We will stay up doing the business here. This is purely heart overuling head.
Anything's possible. At most, I'd give us a 20% chance of beating Leeds. The bookies may disagree. It will really depend on whether the Leeds team wants to end the season on a high, of whether they don't care much. They will be presented with the Championship trophy at the game. Will we give them a guard of honour at the start? Or is that just done in the Prem.
Fantastic effort today to claw back a draw against Wigan. I'm actually a bit confident we can go to Leeds and mug them on their holidays...
This is the position as I understand it. I hope this is correct... Win at Leeds and we are safe. Draw at Leeds and Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF Wigan & Luton both win their games. Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe) Lose at Leeds and Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF Wigan win and Luton win or draw. Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe) NOTE: The above conditions are only correct if Barnsley do not beat Nottingham Forest tomorrow. If Barnsley do win, the whole thing gets more complicated! Also, Sheffield Wednesday's points deduction (if it happens) MUST be at least 12 points for Charlton to be safe. IF Sheffield Wednesday are deducted 11 points or fewer, again it all gets complicated. But I am assuming any deduction will happen after the last round of games. Suffice to say it would be very good for us if Sheffield Wednesday lose their last game. They play Middlesbrough.
In your own hands now. Just beat Leeds and you are safe. My predictions : Luton 1 Blackburn 1 Wigan 2 Fulham 1 Cardiff 3 Hull 0 Sheff Wed 2 Boro 0 Leeds ? Charlton ?
Barnsley have given themselves a lifeline. Here is the way things stand on Wednesday; Win at Leeds and we are safe. Draw at Leeds and Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF these two things happen* Wigan win Luton Town win Barnsley cannot catch us if we draw, as they will not win their last game of the season by 11 clear goals. *Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe) Lose at Leeds and Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF any TWO of these three things happen* Wigan win Luton win or draw Barnsley win *Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe ... but see note below) IMPORTANT NOTE (Sheffield Wednesday): If Charlton lose against Leeds and Wigan, Luton & Barnsley ALL win, even a 12 point deduction for Sheffield Wednesday will not keep Charlton in the Championship. Charlton, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday will be relegated.
Massive result for Barnsley today, but more importantly the results this weekend also mean that both Brentford and Fulham can still get 2nd spot if WBA slip up at home to QPR. Out of all the relegation threatened teams, only Charlton and Luton are playing teams with nothing left to play for. This is going to the wire - no doubt that on Wednesday evening the bottom 3 places are going to change constantly over the 90 minutes. Relegation odds: Hull : 1/25 Barnsley : 1/3 Wigan : 1/2 Luton : 3/1 Charlton : 100/30 Bookies have you as strong favourites of avoiding the drop
Haven’t forgotten that play off final at St Andrew’s, we’ll be up for it make no mistake. The gaffer will want to finish on 93 points.
I would expect nothing less. Naturally we'd like your team to be 'on holiday' or just have a bad day, but I accept that's wishful thinking which probably won't come to pass. In reality if we're going to win we'll have to deserve to. It will be a defining moment for us - win, lose or draw.
Think there are a few of our delusional fans that actually think your not bothered about the last game of the season and winning it
