What do you mean once Smith was introduced, we were doing it before he was introduced, difference was no one was winning the headers. I really didn't understand the tactics for this game. The first half we played brown in front of the back four as we have been doing but then we played 2 ball playing midfielders in front of him in Tonge and Murphy and then for god knows what reason played Austin behind the front 2 (or at least thats where I assumed he played as he was all over the place like a headless chicken in the first half). Then we hoofed the ball over the midfield anyway, gave us absolutely no control of the game. Its not even the quality of player that worries me, there are very few players in that team that actually play the style of football that I want to see at Leeds and also the style that I believe will win us promotion and beyond (of which I would only say Byram, Mowatt, Ross, Poleon). The rest I actually don't really care where they are next season, if they can adapt then great but personally if I were in control of this club I'd be over giving chances to players that continually let me down.
At the start of the season or even christmas I would've disagreed, we generally prior to Rochedale have defended very well individually and as a unit, its hard to believe those players can't get back to that and its more a lack of confidence thing. Although saying that, you can't defend a defence that has conceded as many as it has, and as such I would agree with you now.
I think you're so right, Eire. And I think they've been delaying the season ticket prices announcement in the hope that we'd put a run together. Think this may have backfired on them!
