Think that's more down to poor finishing then good defending but understand your point

Fully agree. Why Jarvis hasn't started and Omur in the #10 I have no idea. Our team needs to be as effective as possible. Starting the game with a square peg in a round hole, already puts us on the back foot. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully the team is well up for it. Come on City!

I wanted Hughes to start but can see why he hasn’t. McLoughlin has done alright. If McLoughlin struggles today then I think Hughes will come in after the international break. Think we’ll see our strongest XI start to take shape after the break.

Still two more new signings to come into the squad, but look at that bench, strongest for a long while?

I don’t know what to think of this line up

I was hoping Jarvis and Hughes would start.

I'd have dropped Jones tbh if I was bringing in Hughes. Staggered they're both starting

I really want to know why we chased Hughes like mad men possessed all summer...

Also why is TW playing Omur on the right? We know he’s ineffective there

Ditto Hughes. Does Watler not fancy him?

The thing is in Walterball there is no static positions, they move all over the ****ing shop, well that is what they’re supposed to do, in practice not so much. I have a good feeling about today, might be as it’s takeaway night but still

As has been said already, I rather suspect that after the international break is when we will see the true line up, Hughes included, and that given we've conceded just 2 goals in 3 league games, although fortunate to some extent may have persuaded Timmy boy to stick not twist.

I honestly think Walter is just going to use the break to bring in the new peeps. All feels very polite, but it happens all the time.

Yep. Hughes will come in against Sheffield United for either Jones or McLoughlin. Ömür might go central and one of the new wingers on the right. He’s just sticking with what he had last game because there’s little justification for dropping a centre-half after a decent game and clean sheet.

A nice moment a little earlier
Hull City vice chairman Tan Kesler has just laid some flowers at Elland Road in memory of Leeds United fans Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight.
