Mehlem and Millar looked good first half and have had good spells dont know how you make that determination.
The strikers have been here 5 minutes. Bedia starting for the first time today
Drameh has played 25 minutes of football this season so again how do you make that determination?

Baffles me that some people think Giles doesn't play it forwards... He does it far more than any of the other defenders currently. He's constantly pinging it to Millar when we're deep. Our left side has too often been our only outlet and that all starts with Giles. The left side's problem came higher up today when Millar kept trying everything himself despite constant overlaps from Giles. Let's be honest, people are on his back too quickly because he was misused last season and many didn't think he was worth the fee as a result. Then because Boro wanted him he 'was **** anyway' from that point forwards... Yet he's still here and is currently a fairly integral part of the first 11. I feel like the other defenders are playing catch up with Giles. As for people knocking him showing some passion, he was frustrated by Millar's decision making today, it was obvious. He was frustrated because he wants to be successful and contribute to a winning team.

I thought our back 4 had their best game so far today and you can see all of them starting to do what's asked of them more and more. The movement was there today and for larger periods we weren't so 'safe' in possession. Having Zambrano in front of them helps ease a bit of pressure too.

As for attack, the more they all play together, the more they'll begin to know where their team mates are going to be and where to put the ball. It'll take a bit of time to click, but early signs are looking a bit more promising to me.

Mehlem was a solid 8/10 today. Constant dogging their defenders and doing the leg work as well. Can't think of many times he lost the ball.

Don't like to sound too negative but Slater is the midfielder who really needs to pull his ****ing socks up at the moment. That cross to nobody today summed up his season so far, though its early days and he's proved time and again that he can do what's needed when called upon. I'm hoping he starts to click with it all and keep himself in contention.

there's several players we have signed who have hardly played
I can understand if we signed them one or two days ago but plenty have had a chance to show what they can do and havent been very impressive
Giles and Millar are not gelling at all and spend half their time feuding
Giles was seen trotting back for the second Leeds goal - somebody should have been covering for him
Walter wants to play with one striker but neither striker we played today looks suited to that role
Mehlem and Drameh dont seem very good, not terrible but not quality
Jarvis clearly isnt ready for the Championship yet he was brought back from Shelbourne when he could have got a lot of good experience

What was most disappointing today was the players and manager heading straight down the tunnel after the game whilst half heartedly applauding the away fans.

Half of them looked like they didn’t want to be there.

I really hope we as fans and also the club give Walter time to build this team properly, he’s going to need a while to get them firing.

Just hope the table doesn’t look too bad by the time it all starts coming together, playing with his philosophy will be even harder if we’re down at the bottom with all that pressure. Could turn ugly.

Why dont they try things out in training?
when they play Championship matches it looks like the players are strangers

That doesn't sound very German. They're usually big into appreciating the fans even when they come over here

Are you genuinely suggesting they don't try things out in training?

It takes time to click. We saw it when Rosenior came in too. He quickly shored up the defence and then it took a long time to start getting attacks looking fluid. The possession first tactics didn’t help at times but made us more solid usually. The intensity is massively increased in a competitive match at this level as well so it's not like a training session is it.

It would have helped to play a couple of piss weak teams in preseason perhaps.

As for it looking like the players are strangers, right now they literally are.

Fan perception is so funny. We've been pretty poor in the 1st 3 league games and pre-season was dire but today was a decent performance, yet there's a lot more criticism today. Credit to Tim, he's changed his approach a fair bit, we're no longer getting Pandur to play kamikaze balls or join to become the third CB. Macca isn't bursting forward as frequently and leaving us exposed too. It's a toned-down version of his philosophy.

We got into 3/4 really good positions when it was 0-0 but our final ball was complete dogshit and we ended up creating nothing. It's not like it's one or two of them either, they're all as bad.

Solomon was their best player today and their first was a moment of quality. It's uber critical to blame Jarvis for that, it's as much Coyle's fault but he showed him down the line & onto his weak foot. Yet, he still put in a quality ball. Coyle had another really good game though.

I feel for Tim, he's been put into an impossible situation. It was always a tough ask to replace a gaffer who finished 7th for a club of our side but to only sign one player before August is a joke.

I don’t agree, I thought Slater should have stayed on in the second half. Taking him off had a significant contribution to them scoring the second goal.

Of the 15 signed... 8 have played...

    Lets have a look...

    Palmer... sub today
Giles... played most games and he's Marmite
Drameh a couple of appearances and then injured
Mehlem and Millar played most, see today MOTM
    Burstow One start 2 subs
Zambrano 2 starts, read todays MDT and MOTM
Bedia 1 start 1 sub also in the MOTM list

So thats your list.... and I quote you,...

"some are cheap or play as if they should be cheap maybe they will get better but maybe most won't"

    HAVE A WORD WITH YOURSELF...

EDIT: Actually I'm wrong 10 have played

    Burns... a few minutes
    Racioppi 1 game.

I’d rather not criticise Giles. I have no agenda against him. He is our player and there’s no way he’s going to Boro. I always say what I see (Roy Walker would be proud).

I’ll try and watch the game again at some point. What I remember seeing today was Giles not taking any risks apart from that one forward ball early on.

I don’t think you can ever blame Millar for being greedy. He nearly scored today and probably doesn’t trust Giles to carry on the forward momentum (like I don’t). He often just turns back and plays it to McLoughlin or Pandur. As I say, I’ll try and watch it back and see if I feel any different, but I doubt it.
