i reckon keep the exact same team providing everyone is fit. Obviously Lonners wont be

Connolly---Lees---O'Dear---White

Snoddy---Howson--Clayton--Pugh

-----McCormack---Keogh--------

Anyone agree with me yet about keogh being a better asset to the team than Becchio? Im going for a 2-0 win as well. I really dont see us losing this game. McCormack and Snoddy to get the goals, I just hope McCormack continues his scoring as well.

I suppose the squad goes without saying, fab overhead kick from McCormack <ok>

He's from Wales. You should see the thread I started about him, he's also signed up on a swingers website asking for a woman to 'show him how it's done' and give him some 'hot action'! <laugh>

U got a link to the thread? could do with a laugh :)

Keogh is indeed an asset but without Becchio we'd be in a bit of trouble. Imagine a scenario where we don't have Becchio. We are playing McCormack and Keogh up front, they are bossing it as usual. We have Forsell, Paynter and Nunez waiting on the sidelines. Nunez is more of an attacking mid anyway, but he can do a job up front.

Now, McCormack sustains a serious injury, and is out until the end of the season. We still don't know how long Somma will be out for. What do we do for goals? Keogh provides a lot and is really doing the business but he's not a goalscorer. Paynter is a useless sack, we've not really seen much of Forsell, and Nunez is more of an attacking midfielder. We have 2 relatively good options (Forsell has looked bright after all) and one useless deadweight. but we don't have any guaranteed goals. It may take 4 or 5 games (or longer) to reshuffle the pack and find a goalscoring set up that works. We still have a few coming in from the midfield from the likes of Clayton, Pugh and Snodgrass, but we don't have anyone consistently keeping the goal tally high.

Put Becchio back in the mix and we have a guaranteed goalscorer capable of playing in practically any forward set up. We can put him up front with anyone, or on his own and he's guaranteed to deliver. Keogh is a great asset, but without goals he will never be as good an asset as Becchio - Becchio will always score goals, and although his link up play is not as good as Keogh's, it's up there with the best in the league and that provides a platform for testing out attacking set ups with our other relatively unproven forwards.

i wasnt saying get rid of becchio. Hes very useful to have in any team, i just think keogh has done very well and deserves his place in the team and i still think that i would prefer to have keogh in my front line than becchio

You said Keogh was a better asset than Becchio. I was stating that I did not agree, since I think Becchio provides more. By no means do I mean Keogh should be dropped, him and McCormack is working far too well.

Morning all, apart from the obvious change, I can also see SG resting Keogh for what might be a harder game at the weekend. Becchio needs game time, as we need all our best players fit & raring to go for the hard slog up to Christmas. 2-0 Leeds will more than suffice. In SG we trust... (maybe a bit more now than a few weeks ago) MOT
