With all due respect - that's bollocks No way did we deserve to lose, but we didn't create enough chances to deserve to win either. **** happens though, we scored in the 94th minute to beat Brighton first game of the season, so what goes around comes around
I played golf in Simon Grayson Charity Golf Day yesterday. Group in front of me Gary Mcallister Group behind me Paul Robinson Micky Gray,Chris Kamara,Richard Cresswell,Simon Grayson,Nigel Martyn,Paul Robinson,Dean Saunders,Lee Sharpe,Kaiser Chiefs and Pigeon Detectives were all there. Great day **** loadsa money raised for MS too
Kissa me and you are really going to have to get together and have a round soon mate. Just pulled this off Sky Sports as it seems to sum up our seasons: "Little was seen of a lightweight Leeds attack throughout, either from Hunt or Luke Varney. They did, though, have scant support from midfield or elsewhere." 1 corner is garbage and we also only had one shot on target out of only 10 attempts.
NOT606 golf day what you saying? who's got the time to organise it? TC u can come then we can all hit balls at ya
Point taken LiE, but I was quoting both Thom Kirwin and Eddie Gray. I also listened to the game & it did sound as though we rode our luck a bit. That said, Pearce did miss a sitter in the final couple of minutes. C'est la vie. Let's hope Byram, Poleon, & Diouf all start on Saturday and we end up turning over Burnley to get things back on track.
Morning all - Many of us have said we are a mid table team and the table does not lie. We are where we deserve to be and that is mid table. We do not create enough nor score enough chances and unless we replace Hunt with a proven 20+ goal a season striker this is the sort of position we can expect to finish. We haven't had that hard a start despite what some believe, we haven't actually beaten any team in the top 10 yesterday against Reading we had 12 shots yet only one on target and one corner all game, we will always concede an odd goal here and there so until we sign someone who can find the back of the net we will have to get used to these kind of results.
Correct and we wont be getting a striker like that anytime soon. They cost money, lots of unless you breed one like Poleon. Either way, he's a season or two from being the finished article, Hunt might get four or five and Smith is a bag of ****e as expected. Hopefully we can grab a narrow win Saturday and stay within touching distance of play offs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24160669 Stuff like the above really fooks me off and just shows the difference between the haves and the have nots. QPR looking for another loan signing ffs. Harry complaining they have only scored 7 goals so far ...... Johnson, Zammora, Nico Kranjear and Charlie Austin and now someone else. Hunt, Poleon, Smith, Varney for us because Ross is in midfield. Doesn't scare opposition does it.
We don't need a striker, Ross and Varney upfront will convert enough chances, we aren't creating enough chances, that is the first problem. We could have the best finisher in the league but unless they have service we will continue not to score, signing a striker would do nothing to our current setup imo. If we sign some creativity and then we aren't scoring then we know its the strikers.
Josh, all our strikers are support strikers who just about reach double figures a season if they do well. McCormack maybe averages slightly better than that but he's still better playing off a target man. I know Becchio stepped up and scored more goals once Beckford left but I can't see any of our current crop doing that. Smith is simply not good enough. You can maybe forgive McDermott for taking a punt on him but not for continuing to play him.
You don't need to have a "main" striker and "second" striker in the current day and age. If you get the goals, you get the goals. I think by far our best partnership since League 1 was Ross and Keogh, neither are main strikers but they worked so well together that it didn't matter and we were getting the goals. If you create enough, the strikers will get the goals. Look at Cardiff and Hull who went up automatically last year, they both didn't have a striker that scored over 12 goals. Both of those teams were so well balanced that they went up, we aren't far off that balance but we require a formation change and a winger/wide man added to the squad for the short team (with a couple signings in january).
If you don't get the goals, you don't get the goals. It's okay saying we don't need a striker just a change in formation and a winger, but there's no sign of either at the moment.
Why dont you come and play at the golf course where I live, I can shoot a few from my garden at the wallies, Btw if you want to buy golf balls,I have hundreds
