Hmmm.........posts deleted eh - for a moment I thought this was the Wurzel forum........... Sorry Matt, you are quite right - but he started it honest.
Sorry, that Leeds team is not at home. We fall over and wet our knickers now if anyone speaks nastily to us near the penalty area No good relying on us to give you an unfair advantage
Listening to PH I get the impression that either for Wolves or the next match there are massive changes going to happen. He said on Saturday that he has a problem with the keeper which means a change for Wolves but Lonners injured, so either Felix keeps his place of BPF or the young Pole, and I would go with Felix unless we bring in an out of contract keeper for the rest of the season. Felix has been at fault for 5 goals which is more than any other keeper in the league. Today he says that Wolves will show him who has responded and will give him a faster way of knowing whos in and whos out for next season. So he might give some another chance but my view is he needs to bin a load of these and look at next season as this one is dead now. Tom Pearce should be used in midfield alongside Forshaw. Viera needs to stand up and be counted because Phillips and O'Kane are history. Anita should never be played in defence again except at his next club, but he would be a better option than the DMs we have used so far, so why not allow him a chance. I would also give Pennington a crack in the middle because if we have to use Cooper we may as well use a decent player in the middle. Why bother playing Lassoga if nobody is going to get the ball to him? Lassoga has proved he only needs a sniff and he tucks away over 90% of his chances. Dont play him if we cant support him because we are playing with 10 men in that case. If you are going to get the ball to him either use Saiz in the hole behind Lassoga or give Ekuban one last chance. Players who may get a chance this season are: Pearce (Anywhere) Miazek (GK) Halme (CB) Struuijk (CB) Machuka (DM) Clarke (CF) Sarkic (CF) Shackelton (CM)
I don’t know if you are right in detail but I do think you’re right PH is mentally on next season. I also think he not soft as ****e and has got the number of some players already. Those things together tell me changes are on the way - my caveats are I don’t know if he’ll do wholesale change forxWokves, and in the short term (this season) we might not like the results, we’d be bloody lucky to find an influx of untried players suddenly makes us worrld beaters. It’s more he’ll know for the summer who’s got both the ability and the character to be worth keeping
Now been confirmed that PH has had a heart to heart with some fringe players. The only one that PH is owning up to BPF who was told that the club were frustrated at the pace of his development especially at a time like this. He has been out on loan and sent back, PH wants to know if hes good enough, has the head for it or if he wants to go> Think that says Felix wouldnt be playing against Wolves so maybe the Pole gets a chance, or did BPF step up his commitment
Yes read a post from a fan that had seen Lonners and Shaughnessy out in Harrogate. Shaughnessy out until pre season and Lonners out for another fortnight
Halme is huge. At least if teams are going to fire balls into the box he has a good chance of heading them away
Has Halme played for the u23s yet? I haven't seen him so far. I've seen Diaz, O'Connor, Struijk & Vieira (the other one) play at CB. All did very well. Struijk is the stand-out for me, but he's not played too many games since we signed him right at the end of January. And tbh, I'm looking at him getting blooded, as he's got a good bit to go before he replaces any of our 1st 3 picks. I'd still take a chance on him. Diaz has played very well at RB too, so you never know, he might get a run-out too (but I doubt it, tbh). Although he was MoM for me, Vieira was only filling in in a back 3, so not a contender for defence IMO. I also think O'Connor has a bit to go. Perhaps next season. Then again, what do I know!
Halme is 1m93 (6'4"). Struijk is 1m90 (6'3"). Pontus is 1m96 (6'5") Cooper is 1m83 (6'0") Pennington is 1m85 (6'1") This surprised me, btw. I thought Pennington was a lot taller.
There are only two keepers I’d trust less than Felix, one is Rachbuka the other is Lonergan. When you think of some of the great keepers we’ve had in the past and LBs yet now it’s suddenly our worst positions.
So Thomas got the sack because of our league position and results. IF PH doesn’t make major changes and he is accepting we are not going to improve much this season as he hasn’t the right tools then did Thomas actually do anything wrong and deserve sacking? I’m assuming Thomas was sacked because the board felt our players were good enough to finish higher and be playing better? If PH has accepted things aren’t going to get better then do the board give him the luxury of being here next season? I’m not calling for sackings, just putting the question out there; if Thomas was sacked as the board felt the players are better than they are then PH better start improving things as the blame for the signings certainly isn’t at the feet of Thomas.
The week Tommy got fired he said and I quote “ one of the problems we’ve had is that we dont have many players over 1.mt”. What a statement to make as he was there from the start and even sent one player out on loan who was over 1.8mt. We have a packed U23 squad who are probably basketball players. Sick of saying this but why do we have so many players who are supposed to be getting development yet never play as there are too many of them in each position. There is no development going on if they dont play
Good point but what we do know is that the players were unfit, some not developing as PH said today some shouldnt have been in the first team squad
