Wonder if Bielsa is considering starting with Harrison playing behind Dan James on the left. That's how we finished on Saturday and I didn't see anything wrong with that as it allowed Dallas to revert back to the midfield.
Could work and could be moved later if required but would give us Dallas back in the middle who counters Traroe? Raphinha
Thought Traore plays right side ? Hopefully Harrison & James have enough pace between them to deal with that particular box of tricks. Let's be honest though, it's going to be tough with so many players out.
We had a throw in on the left, it was high and looping to Joffy, I’m pretty sure he caught it on his instep and stopped it dead before laying off a pass despite two players on him, I was surprised at the time the commentary team said nothing, it was a lovely bit of skill and control. For me he has to start up front and drop Rodrigo back into the Roberts position
I'd be happy with that. Question is who should be the other two in midfield ? For me it's 2 from Klich, Dallas & Forshaw, don't want to see Struijk in there personally as I feel it's not really his position.
if it wasn't for Raphina's 3 we would be done for the shooting has been ****e and final pass atrocious, so pray mat is out for Sarraday
I originally thought we’d signed Llorente for his ability to fill in for Phillips. Dallas needs to be one but he won’t, he’ll be used at LB
Surely Amigo has to play Forshaw in Philips role ……..if he breaks down again show him the door. Give Joffy his full debut with Rodrigo playing just behind him. So for me my team would be:- Meslier Shaks, Llorente,Cooper, Dallas Forshaw James, Klich, Rodrigo, Raphinha Gelhardt ps. I would play Sturijk instead of Cooper but that ain’t going to happen but a good backup on the bench. There are lots of permutations there, eg Drameh comes on, Dallas into MF. Sturijk for any of the CB’s Harrison for any of the wingers Come on Amigo let’s be inventive and let’s hope at 5pm on Saturday we don’t hear, it’s my fault!!!!
KP has just tweeted “Can’t wait to be back” alongside himself in training. Bielsa said “he is healthy but hasn’t competed in three weeks, he needs more practice”… I’m not sure what I feel about this, we need him, he doesn’t play a roll that relies on pace or is it a case we risk him gaining another injury.
Yeh let’s play meslier up front to add a bit of height and Dan James at centre half to cover traore’s breaks. We need to mix it up. Maybe we should play 2 gelhardts… has he got a brother?
Now now Milky, We could mix it up by playing Drameh at right back for instance...someone who's actually played that position throughout his development rather than shoehorning Shackleton in for example.
Question is; How bad does it have to be for it to be the worst ? Scorelines never bother me that much, if you're going to lose then go down fighting and if that means conceding a couple more then so be it.
Even another 1-0 will result in "us" spending the next few days demanding a weak team at Arsenal because the Norwich game has become massive. We know how the last massive game against Norwich turned out In all seriousness I'm relaxed, we're unbeaten in all the games this season where we've been favs
Au contraire… Not shoehorning a player into a single position is one of the fundamentals of bielsaball. Total football baby. … sounds like you don’t rate Marcelo. Steve Bruce is available.
The worst would be getting bullied and dominated all over the pitch at home, losing 2-0 and losing further confidence. The reason for that is we have too many players out of form, confidence looks low which leads to 'safer' decision making which screw-up Bielsaball. The lads looked almost scared to play Bielsaball at Southampton incase they made a mistake. That's bad for any team but especially us. The players that have dragged us out of this mindset in the past are Phillips, Ayling and Cooper. Two of those are out. Hopefully we bounce back and play well but the sooner Ayling and Phillips come back the better. Ayling does go a bit hit and miss as the season progresses but he always retains the confidence to play the risky pass that Bielsa demands. He sticks to the plan, even if he is having a shocker. He's brave and we are lacking a bit of that.
