Yep better than Citeh/Victimpool,we might get some points out of them And i don't feel any better today, ruined my Easter that has, still bloody angry
Ok trying to step away from the ledge and back on HMS Happy Clappy..... Sheff Utd have to play both Hull and Stoke - who both managed to beat us.. Wigan beat Villa 3-0, Norwich only managed to draw with Wigan and with Sheff Weds who we destroyed just a week ago.... This is a stupid league - we could lose our next three games, so could Sheff Utd but sticking to the season doesn't start until Easter so it's only just begun and we're still in it (and might be until the end of May...) Was always worried about Brentford away (and still am but strangely a little less now as maybe we'll go back into bounce back mode - like when we lost to ****ing QPR and then beat West Brom 4-0 or lost to Sheff Utd but came from behind twice to beat Millwall). So with three games to go we're in third by goal difference with 270 minutes of nonsense to go.... And this time a year ago we'd actually managed to win under Heckingbottom against Barnsley to take us to 12th - we had no chance of play offs (Millwall were in the play off places.....) If we'd been offered where we are now back then.... So might as well ****ing enjoy it either way. Last year at this point Fulham were a point behind Cardiff in third place and still managed to go up... We've shown that on out day we can beat and actually destroy ANY team in this league so if the team that beat Norwich 3-0, West Brom 4-0, Derby 2-0, Sheff Wed 1-0 turns up then we can still do it either in autos or play off (we've also shown we can be beaten by ANY team in this league...) but nothing we can do apart from support them and enjoy the ride because despite how ****ing terrible I felt at 6pm - 8pm - 3 am 7 am it's still the best season in years.... We've been through it all together, And we've had our ups and downs (UPS AND DOWNS!) We're gonna stay with you forever, At least until the world stops going round
That defeat was crushing blow. The Wigan game was a give me if our players had applied themselves to the level they are capable of, now there is no room for error in our final three games. Pablo is a clever player whose ability & influence in our attacking play is so important. Others are not so clever who can fall apart at will Bielsa who is responsible for our top three position, god knows where we would be without him this season but even the great man made mistakes with his substitutions which were far too early imo! Roofe for Roberts was a nonsense It is rumoured Phillips took a knock, if that's the case Forshaw was the obvious choice Clarke couldn't skin a rice pudding right now, Jack needed to be put to bed until next season Shackleton who has pace & energy should have been given another opportunity to shine, Jamie hasn't let us down previously although it seems Marcelo has gone off him Alioski & Pontus were gobbing it off to the officials about Wigan's time-wasting, well I'm sorry you mouthy gits you brought on that scenario yourselves. Had we built on our 1-0 lead v ten men in a professional manner all the silly verbal tantrums would have been non-existent Yes we have limited options off the bench but whose fault is that playing with such a slim squad that is carrying average players & young kids as your back-up ?
Anyone who thinks it was complacency yesterday just has no understanding of sport. It’s pressure, fear and panic. The longer you go without creating daylight in those circumstances the harder it gets. You see it all the time against 10 men. Get some daylight and the flood gates open. Don’t and the tension mounts. We bottled it yesterday. The team choked... and no leaders grabbed the game by the throat. The mentality is different on Monday. Difficult away game, the pressure is back on the blunts. Thought the subs were strange yesterday. Not seen any sign that Bamford and Roofe can play together or that Roofe would be an improvement on Roberts at 10
The main worry for Me is we've been found out,if a team sits back, and counter attack,we must only have about a 20% win ratio against teams doing that since the New year. Most of our wins have been against teams who attack us,WBA,DERBY,BRISTOL C,PRESTON,and the teams who parked the bus and score on the break,Stoke,QPR,BIRMINGHAM,HULL,WIGAN.
I think sides sussed pretty early in the season what the best chance against us was. It’s been the same all season. Our 20 average chances against 3 or 4 good ones for them. The diffference in results is simply whether our chances go in or theirs. Some of our best wins have been won with our fewest shots/chances.... WBA being a case in point. Pablo aside our attacking players don’t have the ability to play the killer final ball... or the ability to take the chances often enough when the final ball is good enough.
Well countering that you could say Brentford at home have some incentive to play (especially as they don't need the points either way). Aston Villa should be up for a game and Ipswich are at home and might go for it as have nothing else to do - either way we've managed a healthy win against Reading, beaten Millwall, Bristol City, Bolton this year who were all in bus parking mode. If we play as well as we can, we can win. Play like yesterday we can also win if we get lucky but more likely we'd lose......
Brentford and Villa will come at us then Chesh, which will suit us, relegated Ipswich with an eye on their holidays will not want to do the Budgies a favour, so 9 points it is, Happy days Heyyyyyyy
We and norwich have won the most games this season equal on 25 wins. Norwich though have drawn five more its our weakness like yesterday not being able to scrape a draw.
Same here. If anything even more angry at the failure to take advantage of the gold plated gift horse that was presented to us. Still it could change on Monday but Brentford away doesn't bode well followed by Vanilla.
Think we will have chances and play better against Brentford and Villa, the problem with them 2 though is if we are good enough to beat them as both have better strikers than we have.We did beat Millwall but were fortunate and could easily have lost, and Bristol didn't park the bus.
