Fair enough mate, I don’t know why these players do not play. Orta finds them, Bielsa watches the footage and okays the signing. Personally I think we’re miles better than any team in this division with a huge BUT we don’t convert the chances.
I disagree average managers beat him tactically, they just get lucky. You can’t account for a striker or attacking player missing from 6 yards out, you can’t account for keeper errors. You can’t say the Wigan coach was a better tactician, they dug a trench, got two shots in and scored with one.
They had 24% possession and two shots, we had 18 and only 5 on target, we had the ball in our possession another 10 times in the 6 yard box and did nothing with it. It’s frustrating, it’s infuriating but the players don’t miss on purpose. If you’re looking for a realistic answer it’s nerves and confidence.
WBA look at the talent they have yet they’ve slipped up just like us
I think you should flip the coin and look at the other side Ristac,
If a team has 2 shots on target, and score 1 or 2 goals to beat us, and we have most possession and better football, with 18 shots and 5 on target, and no goals scored then the other team are doing something better than we are, which comes down to their coaches tactics.
I agree tactically Wigan didn't beat us, it was a lucky goal, had we had someone on post (Berardi would've probably been there) but they got there goal and stopped us scoring.
Tactics isn't just about the opposition scoring on counter or on a quick break, it's how they defend against us. Most, if not all teams now seem to know we try to walk ball into net, so they pack their penalty area, that's a tactic outsmarting Bielsa, cos Bielsa never changes.
They have only 2 or 3 shots at our goal, but score enough to beat us, that's a tactic outsmarting Bielsa.
Other teams now know how we play cos Bielsa never changes, in other words, Bielsa is transparent and predictable, he sticks to same pattern game in game out.
While we can see our football is good football, and we have most of possession most games, it's predictable to other teams.
They know about Bamford, Harrison, and Ayling going too far forward etc, they do their homework as well.
Other teams advantage is, Bielsa is predictable and never changes.........and very very stubborn.
I pointed these things out at beginning of season, and halfway, copped flack for it, now people are talking about what I talked about at beginning of season.
