They changed the rules and remember the womens world cup where penalties were given for making your silhouette bigger by moving your arm out wide? then the European matches where VAR awarded penalties for the same and then you get the bent EFL way of doing it. One rule should be the same for all football
Disagree. Obviously, I don't want it to happen, but if Cooper & White were out, we'd have Berra & either Davis or Struijk. Davis has already played 1st team this year, & last, as a LB & also part of a back 3, without putting a foot wrong. Struijk is untested at first team level, but he was imperious last season for the u23s, and I'm sure could fill in. If we are really pushed & lose these guys, Casey is doing really well in the u23s, & there's Ayling & KP. Note that by grouping all 3 together, I consider each one equally as a last resort group, although for different reasons (untried, poor, & average).
I can nearly guarantee that if it happens to a Leeds Utd player at WBA in the return fixture a peno will be given...
What a performance ! Disciplined & resilient defending I've not seen from a Leeds team in a long time. My god so nerve-racking though, if I didn't have a dodgy ticker before the game I must have been close to one by the end, relief & ecstatic joy when the final whistle was blown. A mate of mine offered me one of his stents  Positives Three points. Clean sheet. We won at ER for our home fans at long last We're top of the league. We scored a goal by shooting first time without taking a touch. Best defensive performance from a Leeds team in many seasons. Won the game with only 48% possession, having loads of the ball means nothing if you don't score. Their goalie had more saves to make than Kiko in the second-half. We won the game without one of our best players Shacks in the first-half & our captain Cooper. Bamford without doubt the MOTM, superb performance Ben White efficient as ever. Dallas worked his socks off Phillips did a job on their classy playmaker. Berardi looked comfortable. Alioski's best game of the season. Jamie Shackleton so good in the first-half Ayling back. Negatives We lost the midfield once Shackleton had gone. We had chances to finish to off the game Injuries building up again with Pablo, Forshaw, Shacks & Cooper in the treatment room. Ratings 7 Casilla 9 Dallas 7 Cooper 9 White 8 Alioski 9 Phillips 7 Costa 6 Klich 8 Shackleton 6 Harrison 9.5 Bamford Subs 8 Berardi 5 Roberts n/a Ayling
‘64. Phillips did a job on their classy playmaker? I though they cut through us time and again after the break. Pereira is definitely a handful, but for me our midfield as a group lost control of the game second half. What score did you give KP at charlton?
They got into lots of dangerous positions and failed to capitalise. Partly due to good last ditch defending and partly poor decision making. Thought they were excellent second half to be fair.
I thought they did a bit of huffing and puffing, but in general, their attacks were broken up by our midfield and defence, without causing Kiko too many problems.
Since I joined this board I've noticed Klich doesn't get enough credit for the job he does for the team. He always seems to get low marks or the odd comment thrown in his direction. He'd be one of my first names down every week. The work he does off the ball is staggering. He is one of the best pressers we have, is intelligent with the ball, rarely gives it away, reads the game well, winds up the opposition and his running opens up HUGE gaps for other players. Klich for me is one of, if not, the key player we have. He will be loved by his teammates
This used to happen with Phillips (prior to Bielsa arriving) until someone pointed it out on here, WJ I think it was. I was guilty at the time of thinking he wasn't that great but then you watch him more closely and you notice the simple things he did. I must admit, I thought Klich was average the last few games but I am not focussing on him. A couple of others have pointed out how we suffer when he has been substitued, I'm going to pay more attention to him next game
Completely agree. Terrific first touch too. Didn’t think he was great yesterday but MOM at charlton... Typified by him sprinting full tilt to get the ball back from the corner flag for them to take a goal kick when we were chasing the game.
Klich is very underrated by some fans but fortunately valued by Bielsa. My one criticism of him is his shooting is weak. Always goes for placement when sometimes the best option is probably power. Even his penalties are powderpuff.
