As we seem to have 2 full backs who's strengths are their forward play, is it time for a change of system, one that would see us hopefully stop conceding stupid goals.

.............Darlow.........I know but I'm sick to death of meslier.

.........Rodon......Ampadu......Struijk

Bogle................................................Firpo

...............Gruev............Rothwell

James..................Joseph..............Gnonto
Just a polite reminder, we have Farke in charge, he doesn’t do change.

Sadly we will see Ampadu in the middle, Rothwell on the bench, and Piroe out of position as a 10

I don't for one minute think he'll change anything but as foolee says, it's suicide playing Bogle and Firpo in a flat back 4.

I think what Farke is trying to do is drop Ampadu in to a back 3 when the full backs push forward. That sounds great but it leaves a gap in midfield and teams just walk through.

The main problem on Wednesday was a lack of movement or pace amongst Aaronson, Bamford and Gelhardt. Midfield had no options and that's why it went side to side and backwards alot. Boro could just squeeze forward and crowd the pitch giving no space for us to work in. Bamford looks shot to pieces. Rothwell actually played well although the midfield was overrun for the most part.

Last weekend against Pompey was just 'one of those games' where everything they hit went in. I'm not concerned about that one, I thought we did enough to win that game 5 times over.

The big worry I have from Wednesday is the lack of enthusiasm in the side. Nobody seemed bothered. If that's the case then it's more bottom of the league season than top of it. The attitude needs to change today regardless of the result otherwise the season is gone. It's no suprise that a couple of the rats were playing after returning to the club as it looked like the relegation season all over again.

I'm really not sure what Bamford will offer us this season, it's frustrating he'll be here for another 2 seasons.

Don't worry guys you will finish above us (Norwich) Unfortunately I think we will finish bottom 3 so you have to worry how close you are to us lol

I don't think you'll finish bottom 3 but don't think you'll make play offs this year either.
You've sold some quality it seems

Kind of like that line up except we’ve always looked disjointed when playing three at the back going all the way back to when Bielsa would play it when the opposition went two up front. Problem for me is that the wingbacks often occupy the same space where the wingers want to play. I would keep that lineup but play Ampadu alongside Gruev (we always looked better defensively with Kamara/Gruev in front of the back four - in fact Rodon and Ampadu is our strongest CB pairing but that’s a different debate) with Rothwell playing further forward. Darlow/Mes is much of a muchness, a film sequel **** and ****ter.

If we played that system and moved Ampadu into midfield, then we have no.one to drop into the 3.
Wober is supposedly injured but if Wednesday night is anything to go by, he couldn't give a toss regardless.

Why have you sold all your best players? Financial troubles? Ownership greed?

Good morning all
Christ we need a performance or win today, just to lift the gloom and give everyone some hope, also we cannot afford the slow start as we had last season.
Hoping the Boro game was just an aberration, of which we will not see again, a win today would put us on track again, a loss and another poor performance and were possibly in trouble for the rest of the season.

You shouldn’t need someone to drop into a back three if you’re playing two holding midfielders in front of the back four, Ampadu could but then you’re giving up the midfield.

Let’s think positive. Everyone says that this is a tough game but West Brom haven’t had a pot to piss in for years and have sold off players. If they can still build a competitive squad then so should we. Time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, stop the bleating and win this game.

I was buzzing before Portsmouth now all that buzz is gone. The Boro game was as bad as it gets changes or not. totally not bothered we out the cup as we weren't winning it anyway but that performance won't leave my head and with our flair gone it's hard to think positive but I have too. I'm hoping that game was a one off and we come back out today as the Leeds United that bosses this League is that a big ask? yes maybe its a bit tougher now Summerville and Rutter gone but two players don't make a team. win lose or draw I want a performance today because if we play like Wednesday night we in big trouble.

We always have being a self funded club with Delia's not very many millions although she did save our club. Ownership has now changed to Mark Anttanasio so hopefully things will change, but we will still not have money thrown at us, but maybe keep a good player in the future

Football is broken mate. It's **** for us fans. From your perspective it would have been nice to add to your squad this summer and have a stronger push for promotion. I hope we get Rowe from you but it stinks that you have to sell.

Plus you should have no financial troubles with red bull ownership yet you have also sold very good players. It's just the way football is now unfortunately. We just want to be in a different division to you guys so you don't take points off us lol
