Usual stuff. Lots of the ball. Lots of nice looking interplay that gets us nowhere. Lots of chances to shoot without shooting. Their keeper not had much to do. We look a bit vulnerable at the back. We can't unlock these defences. We kind of just hope something happens for someone rather than making it happen.
Gnonto has been poor. He's lost the ball, shot wide, passing has been poor, whinged alot and thrown his arms about. Get him off and put Joseph on.
Every team we play will park the bus and have 10 men covering their rear. We need to start putting.clever balls in and taking long pot shots. We have 4 good front men but they need the ball in to Rutter and Piroe. Rutter looking good again
Agreed, was going to post after that challenge to say they're dirty ****ers. Think we'll get this a lot this season. Dirty, sitting and hoping for a draw or sneaky goal from a corner. Going to be a long hard season. I think if anything is going to happen it'll be a good ball to Piroe or more likely something special from Rutter or Summerville. Gnoto looks elsewhere and has his head down any time a tackle doesn't go his way or he can't get past his man. Hopefully just me looking into it too much but hope he's not got more attitude issues because of the Sini situation and wishing he was out the door.
That type of player costs money. The 49ers are not willing to spend that much... Carry on and they will fail.
Agree with most of it bar the last two sentences, I think these sort of defences will always be hard to break down. It's about making sure we don't concede and keep having a go. We have had shots and chances, Rutter made the keeper make a good save. Don't concede, keep the ball and keep going and we'll get something through Rutter or Summerville. After about 60-65 minutes it might be worth bringing Spence on so they've got Summerville and Spence to have a go.
I'll tell you who we remind me of. Remember that few years where Arsenal just passed the ball around for the sake of passing the ball around toward the end of Wengers era? That side. Always looking for the perfect goal instead of just hitting the back of the net. That's us now.
We've been comfortable in this game. They can't get the ball off us at all. The ball has been in their half nearly all game and yet we've worked the keeper just the once as far as I remember.
