I think part of our problem is Piroe is looking like a luxury player when he’s playing behind Rutter and as Rutter is looking better and better you can’t drop him

We just lack some extra creativity in the middle. Farke seems intent on resting players when our lead is too slender. We had no threat once Bamford, Poveda and James came on, it was too risky for my liking taking Anthony and Summerville off

Think Leicester will walk this league with a 100+ points, as things stand Sunderland are looking useful for the other auto place & us for a top six position.

Poor performance after a good start. Should have won comfortably as they are a poor side who will struggle this season. But we bagged the points, which is what's important, particularly after Saturday's fiasco. Come the end of the season, the points from this game will still be worth three and nobody will remember the nature of the game. MOT

Meslier - 6. Nothing much to do. One save at the end.

Ayling - 5. Too many poor touches and passes but a decent bit of ****housery going on.

Rodin - 6. A bit of a nervy moment 1st half with a back pass but it's no surprise to (almost) every fan that we look alot better with him playing.

Struijk - 6. Decent again. Lost a few aerial battles but overall did well.

Byram - 6. Decent defensively but another who wasted possession too often. Forced to play inside because he's not a ****ing left footed ****ing left back which narrows our attack.

Ampadu - 8. MOM. Our new Kalvin. Superb again.

Gray - 7. Managed to play further forward than Kamara did on Saturday and although short of his early season form still looks the go to partner for Ampadu.

Piroe - 3. Poor display by the leagues best #9 playing out of position in midfield. Bizarre decision to play him that deep when we clearly need a goalscorer in and around the box.

Summerville - 7. Scored the winner but overall a frustrating evening where he held on to the ball too long and slowed us down.

Anthony - 8. A really good hour. Must be injured as he would probably be our best player until that point. Strange sub if he's not carrying a knock.

Georginio - 7. Great assist. Great effort. Tried lots of ways to break through but was just one of those nights where things weren't quite working for him.

    Subs.

James - 6. Lively. Committed. Decent spell.

Bamford - 7. For all his faults he made a positive impact from the bench. Dived to get the keeper sent off.

Poveda - n/a. Game had gone too scrappy by the time he came on.

Cresswell - n/a. Got in for last few seconds.

I genuinely think Piroe at 9 and Rutter deeper gets us more goals. Look at Rutter on the first goal where he drifts wide and picks out Jimmy.

We must be the only club to buy the leagues best #9 then play him in midfield. It's ****ing weird.

Piroe at 9, Rutter deeper, agreed. When Spence returns and when we buy a quality left ****ing footed ****ing left back in January the second half of the season we’ll be more balanced and creative.

Just need to stay in touch with autos till then.

Obviously we were dreadful and wouldn’t have equalised if still playing now but I’d like Begovic’s red card to be rescinded and Bamford given a ban. Not like he doesn’t have form.

I wouldn't object if Bamford got banned.

Have to admit when the ref blew, I thought he was going to book Bamford for diving, just from the ref's body language.

As you can tell from that comment and my prediction of a 3-2 win for your lot, it won't surprise you when I tell you I got sacked as a fortune teller on Blackpool seafront. Never saw that coming either ;)

Frustrating performance as we are capable of much much more but there are plenty of positives.

We would have lost or drawn that last season. We wouldn't have kept a clean sheet. With 5 clean sheets in 6 games it appears that we can win games with just the one goal for a change. We played badly and still won. That's promotion winning stuff if we can repeat it.

After a bit of a disaster at Southampton it's nice to not turn that in to back to back bad results. Hopefully we can beat Bristol on Saturday and take 6 pts from the last 6 available and we'd be starting to get on a roll again.

Rodon back and what a difference it made.

Back in the play offs after 10 games and given the squad issues early doors I think we would have happily taken that. 14 pts from the last 7 league games. 2pts per game gets you up.

Coming to an international break where we can nurse the niggles and get Farkeball further ingrained in these players.

Why was Bamford allowed to take the free kick after the goalkeeper was sent off, surely we have someone better! :headbang:

My honest answer? Because he's a big time Charlie. I didn't even get mad at the time as I just accepted that we weren't gonna do anything from that position because I've seen it all before. He does it with penalties too. Nobody seems to have the bollocks to take the ball off him.

I've never really rated Bamford as a goalscorer but in fairness he did well when he came on. Maybe that's his role this season. Give us half an hour against a tired defence.

We’d have lost or drawn that last season as it would have been against infinitely better pl standard. QPR atrocious and that’s two shocking performances in a row from us. If target is top two, it’s rapidly slipping away. If targets playoffs we should be ok

It looked like Rutter had the ball and wanted to take the free kick but Bamford took it off him.

Hi guys my video was rubbish so waited to see match reports. We had chances and if we had put another two away it's three nil and back slapping time all round. Another clean sheet is a big bonus and breeds confidence. We have new players still to come in so there is time yet. Autos are not out of the question and the 49ers will not be afraid to spend in January.

We were in control for at least 80% of the game, I don’t think it was a shocking 90 minutes, the last 10 was pretty bad. Are a few fans expecting a bit too much, we were not at our best but I’d not say we were shocking.

The team is finding its feet, Farke is tweaking it, RB is obviously causing him a headache with Spence out, Struijk and Rodon have to be the cemented pairing, it does leave us short of a captain.

Poveda coming on would have been Gnonto, lots of positives to still focus on

Yes i forgot about gnonto to make an impact. Farke has starting options now which makes a change for us.

It was impossible not to keep a clean sheet against that lot btw. Read nothing into that outing
