We have to take every game seriously and the cups are important to me as winning breeds winning.I know there will be changes with those not having game time getting their chance to play. For once though I don't feel like I usually do about square pegs in round holes, as I believe that everyone will be playing the same way so they can slot into the positions Bielsa wants. I'm looking forward to seeing if we can progress further.

As far as Anita is concerned he hasn't done anything for me and he needs to go. There is something about his stance that I cannot stand and reminds me of Gregan as I couldn't stand him either! I don't often take a dislike to players but he isn't good enough for us. O'Kane playing meant we played too deep and invited the opposition to attack us all the time putting pressure on the keeper.

I’m hoping those given a chance go out with the intention of grasping that chance with both hands, give Bielsa a headache for Friday. I’d rest the first team 11 but I would still love a cup run but I’m greedy ;)

I'd never rest the whole 11 as we need to keep some in and after witnessing both the4 Sutton and Newport games being thrown, I will never agree to them not taking any game seriously

Cant argue with that, but don't want anybody crocked ahead of Boro. Between the devil and the deep blue sea...<laugh>

Too much importance being put on this Boro game. It's just another game with loads more to come.

I welcome the cup games. It's a fantastic chance for some of the non-regular players to experience what it's like at ER, and the longer we're in the cup, the more game time they get, which helps us in the long run.

And as for this 'resting before Friday' malarkey, I have to ask 'why?'. Tues / Fri is the same gap as Wed / Sat, or Sat / Tues, a 3 day gap which has been the standard for donkeys years - and for many weeks every season too! Not only that, but this year, our guys are fitter than ever!

It's not as though Boro don't have a game either, is it?

I don't disagree, but some games are more serious than others and I think that stamina, exhaustion, mental and physical, are going to be relevant to our overall campaign this season. We fell apart last year with basically the same players, Bielsa is good but currently hasn't yet achieved deity status. So rotate the players, keep winning but accept that the focus has got to be the league and Boro on Friday for me is the priority.

    Hello by the way :emoticon-0150-hands

PS Bay City Rollers :emoticon-0145-shake don't mention that to Shako

I'll be concerned too if we play Pontus.

He looked fit enough & coasted the game at Norwich

The Boro game is important only for the fact that it gives us a more accurate idea of our form. Boro have been favs to go up this season ever since they failed last season. They have been in the top 2 since the season kicked off and if we beat them we can rightly start to dream

Tonights game does give more game time to players who want to immpress

I watched Boro v West Brom last Friday and if they play like that we do not have to worry, Clayton & Howson has their midfield dynamo's?? Ayala is a plank at the back, not very mobile but is a threat in oppositions boxes on set pieces, even tho he does use his hand to score, the forward Asomabongadooda what ever his name is has got a Berardi crunching tackle waiting him, then thats there main threat over with......... Leeds by 2 for me and pretty comfortable.

Oh by the way West Brom are also nothing to worry about either, if a team like Norwich can put 3 past them then that tells you a story within its self. The one side i have watched this year that has caught my eye is Brentford, they zip the ball around quite nicely, work hard as a unit, have pace down the flanks and compress play in the midfield, a team to be given a lot of respect IMO

I take each game as we can and we just need to go out and win and play to our strengths. Let the other teams worry about us now!

Anita must have done something right, he helped Newcastle go up. It didn't help that we played him out of position.

He does seem too light weight for our team. I can see him getting eased off the ball....

I've no idea how he played for Newcastle overall and I know his position has been mentioned before. I just haven't seen anything from him as a player to establish him a place in our team. I would much rather put one of the young ones in and build our team around them.

Especially as he is rumoured to be on 15k a week.

Anita came to us as a DM and he was expecting to play alongside Klich and O’Kayne but TC screwed everything up by using him as a LB, RB but mainly LB which is his worst position. Klich sent to the naughty step and o’Kayne swapped about with Viera and Phillips to completley smash a midfield to pieces. Well done Thomas and feel sorry for Anita who is coming to the end of his career and needs games

We have no room now for a DM and any new loan players will need to be as good or better than what we have, so maybe a new left back as Pearce is a kid but we also have Dallas

I'd go with Pearce everytime to be honest and would have had him above Anita anytime. Having Dallas at right back was a square peg in a round hole for me as I hated him playing there as many times he struggled in that position.

Dont disagree with that Heidi but think Pearce is seen as one of 3 or 4 kids Bielsa wants to use and bring on/educate as part of his 22.that would mean him, Edmondson and Nessy part of the kids group which leaves a spot open for a top loaneee to cover Douglas?

I suppose we'll know soon enough who is coming in seeing as the loan window shuts this week
