Sums again. 18 points from 8 matches = 2.25ppg Extrapolated over the season = 103.5 points. Wolves won with 99 last season. Wolves had 17 points after 8 games last season. So did we. Proves nothing, but hey!
Had a great night at the game. Most of what I would have said has already been said. So Bielsa was right about Roberts. Think we all had differing levels of doubt. Serves us right! Tonight I watched the Harrison I thought we'd signed. About bloody time. I wonder if that goal was the final piece in the jigsaw. Hopefully the same for Roberts. I think Alioski is getting an unfair write-up across various social media. And yet Bielsa picks him for every match. I'd love to see his stats. Can't imagine anyone working harder. I didn't realise it, but he's scored 2 & has 2 assists. Saiz has one of each. And yet it's Alioski who gets criticised for his end product! Agree that crossing could be better, and could avoid offside more often. Small note on that - the receiving player always catches the blame for being offside, but sometimes you need to look at the guy making the pass. Just a second or two's hesitation can make the difference. Saiz in particular is very guilty of this. Just sayin'. Btw, have a look at Roberts' 2 goals. For the lob, Alioski was right in at the back post, unmarked & ready for the tap-in if Roberts hit the woodwork. Similarly for the headed goal, guess who was directly behind Roberts, in case he didn't make the header. Yup, and unmarked again. We also noticed that Alioski seemed to tackle more than Douglas on the left. Not sure if this was a planned strategy or not, but it wasn't happening on the other wing! Which brings me to Douglas. 7/10 most of the time. Can't argue with that. Still waiting to see the player I thought we'd signed, though. Best LB in the Championship? Can't see it myself. Hopefully, the word 'yet' is appropriate her, & he'll stun me for the rest of the season. Sounds a bit negative after a great victory, doesn't it? But it's not. I'm delighted that Roberts & Harrison have 'arrived', and looking forward to Douglas being next. Positive. And surely asking people to get off Alioski's back isn't negative. Or is it? Roll on Saturday! MOT
