Looked like a dislocated knee to me. It popped itself back in but the issue is the ligaments will have been stretched (or snapped). If that's the case, that can take 12 months to let the initial swelling go down, operate, repair, strengthen, slowly test and finally twisting before trying to kick a ball. Then get match fit. Poor lad.
