Agreed but… you can look at our results and there are a lot of points in the bin that shouldn’t be. First 3 home games only gained 3 points, that has to stop and soon or two of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton will take it away from us. I have a sense we need a strong run, kind of, right now, to get into the mix by a couple of points and bring nerves and fatigue into it to really believe we could haul this back. That said, I have enjoyed the last four months more than the last two years by a country mile so, if we don’t go up????
Be magnanimous, he called it, you had a Firpo Tbf, I did soften it with the Piroe and Davis acknowledgements
And the players are enjoying it too. You’ve only to look at rutter and Summerville doing their post match interview. They’re having a ball
Loved Emus comments and spat my red wine out on the Davies mark. Cannot cricks and of the starting 11 and was a bit underwhelmed with Gnonto as he had the chance to carry on doing what James was doing but did a lot of sideways and backwards. He wasn’t terrible but not scaring them. Gruev was well decent and di carry on Kamara role and looked assured. Firpo scared me and is deffo ring rusty. Bamford wtf did he touch the ball, did he tackle anyone are did he even get a shot off. When Bamford landed the game was just about keeping the ball in the middle and defence, no forward play except from Joseph who was doing a Gelhardt froma couple of years ago, just a ball of energy but not getting a break. So praise where due we had a performance from everyone today except Bamford and Firpo and Gnonto can do better
Kinell sorry that's my contribution to the thread, after reading it to catch up on the result. PARTY TIME WHAT A CHRISTMAS PRESENT, THANK YOU LEEEEEEEDS.
Mate when someone states that they’re a poster who both knows and understands football today was priceless. Fortunately for you there are 23 games left for you to recover some credibility
Well done for yesterday. You have taken 9 points off the top 2. At this moment ( I know it will be down to 4 by 3pm boxing day)you are 7 behind us and a massive 13 points behind leicester. Who the heck have you been losing to or drawing with ? Are there games that you are just flat ? I,m assuming Preston will be full on parking the bus mode boxing day, I cannot see anything other than 3 points for you.
The chaos for the first five or six games of the season is main reason. We only drew our first three at home but had we had Farke and a team a month earlier we’d have another five or six points likely. Plus we struggle against the park the bus teams
Dropped points early doors prior to the window closing with players wanting out and some refusing to play. A complete **** show. Once the window ended the players settled down and points started rolling in. Since then we seem to go through this cycle of playing well and demolishing teams followed by a couple of half arsed performances where our quality gets us over the line without really playing well. Eventually we drop points and it gives us the kick up the arse we need and we go back to our brilliant best again. Yesterday's performance was a response to a loss at Sunderland and a home draw with Coventry. We'll probably lose at Preston on boxing day. We are a young side and we can be hit and miss at times. It could cost us automatic promotion.
Mate, I’d say yesterday we were electric hot and, when we are we're too hot to handle for pretty much anyone. That includes Leicester, I think we blitzed them. The problem is, we are young (not me by any stretch of the imagination) and can’t seem to keep it up (sounds much more like me) so, we could blitz you and then be 0-0 with Preston after 70 minutes and know we are going to lose and then it happens. I like McKenna and think your side are onto something, just a bit of strength/ belief, I don’t know and haven’t over researched but just have a hunch you’ll do it. My son went yesterday with his Ipswich supporting mate ( beats me tbh because everyone just seems to be off their nut on heroin every time I walk through the middle of Ipswich) and, although the magnificent Oscar (the Ipswich fan) was, undoubtedly, hurting after the defeat, I messaged him, I’d swap the three points for the (now) seven point gap any day. Having said that, while you are celebrating like never before, get yourself over to Eire’s bar and he can tell you what a cockwomble being in the Premier League actually is and teach you to blame the owners for getting you there in the first place. Actually, no, he’ll probably just blame ours
