Yeah I agree with your assessment of us. We are operating in the bargain basement when it comes to transfer fees for players with Garner being our biggest outlay for the princely sum of £750k!! Our acamedmy though is churning out some really bright prospects and the next Manager who comes in I hope will have a more positive and attacking attitude than Mick has! He is his own worst enemy at times and doesn't endear himself with the fans at times. As for you boys I really do think that this will be your year after the heartbreak of missing out last season. You really should be a Premier league club.
Popped in the Peacock post match but couldn't see anyone.,,but then I only know WJ. Scratched my name on his car to prove I was there and add a bit of value to it. In town now celebrating a fantastic win !
I dont know if it was sitting way back on the second back row of the east stand but I felt quite detached from what was an odd game. In a nutshell in the final third were were really good. In the middle of the pitch we were invisible and at the back we were ****e. The defence relied on luck time and time again and the big kraut makes Silvetri look like Lev Yashin. Their second goal was scholboy stuff and the thick twat kept passing short to defenders had a man on them. This refusal yo go long will cost us if they keep doing it. Chant of the day. Leeds fans in south stand yo leeds fans in the full east stand. "Where were you when we were ****e"..... And they were all pointing st shaks. 3-2 sounds like a thrilling game but it strangely wasnt.
got a snippet for you on Vieira my mate saw him a game or two back when he did not make the matchday squad.my mate was walking round to the north stand and ronnie was leaving in his car with his girlfriend.now the thick plottens seems he is out of favour and needs to buckle down and support his teamates on match day.
exactly how i saw the midfield o'kane ran his socks off but saiz and phillips were cantering about and he had to make up for them.Alioski just mainly played out wide but his final was inefective.everyone says how good cooper is but it don't work for me as pontus reads the game better. we needed a clogger in the middle toda and phillips started off well but started to drift further forward the more the game went on.my thoughts on der bomber i shall put in a minute.
Good ball, good finish. McCarthy will be livid that a hardly speedy striker gets a free run in from a pass from a centre half
der bomber put it away after a great ball from shocknessy. Pablo hit the corner very hard and it curved so the goalie was fooled.so he had to turn his body and catch it and step over the goaline,me and my mate shouted goal and it took a while cos the linesman gave it. Phillips once again put the shot in the right area.
My views on today's game. We definitely had the more dangerous chances, not that I'm saying Ipswich did not have their chances. We really missed Jansson today, especially from defending the set pieces. When all defenders are fit, will Cooper be out third of fourth ranked centre back? Jansson is our number one. I'd say Pennington will be our second centre back. Shaughnessy and Cooper to fight it out. Phillips has now scored 4 this season. I believe this is from 9 appearances. Not easy to round a keeper, and score
and that's him summed up ,he is very slow.later in the game went one on one with full back on the right (or defender not sure) .he was out paced easily so although he is a cracking finisher he needs pace with him via the midfield.Saiz did not have a great game but you could see him upset with himself for not making it work.speaks volumes for me does that.
got to agree about cooper.not a patch on pontus.young shocknessy did well.seen pennington once and hes excellent
This was the league table before today's games. Ipswich have played a game less then all the teams in the top 14. Had they played and won that game in hand, they would have been top of the pile. Bearing that in mind, our 3-2 comfortable win should not be down played. please log in to view this image
Alioski in particular looks too easy to knock off the ball, and he doesn't seem to win many 50/50 challenges. Wish he'd stop asking for cards all the time too. Having said that he's great for us going forward, and by the end of the year he'll have worked out that he needs to toughen up - the best skill players all have a nasty edge too.
The win could not in any sense be dscribed as comfortable. We had about six games worth of luck today.
Pennington looked so assured on the ball on the first game of the season. When he got injured, I feared the worse for our defence, but they have showed their metal, even Cooper, but when all fit, I personally would have Jansson and Pennington together.
Top of table, Great 3 2 win in a full house. Cheer up any miserable ****ers wanting to have a whinge over that. You know who you are #neverfuckinhappy
We had a stroke of luck when the keeper dropped the ball but you have to make your own luck. Look how many times the luck has gone against us. We were due this win imo.
