He was different class first half, ran the game, got tired and sloppy in the second but seems a great player [emoji106]

The Byram wage offer which is supposedly the same money as he's on now for a year extension is all well and good but it comes 2 contract offers and 18 months too late!! Being treat ridiculously poorly by cellino and some leeds fans are jumping on Byrams back about it! The kid was offered 50% pay cut in the first instance

Evans has said Byram has been given a very good offer, said problem is Byram wants more first team football while Evans wants to see more commitment from player before he will get more game time.Agree with Evans, players wont play unless they show they really want to play for Leeds.

Bridcutt was my MotM, even though he didn't carry his excellent standard into the second half. It wasn't just his performance - it was the fact that he was played in a dedicated DM role, the first player since Brown to do it well. This freed up Adeyemi & Cook to express themselves, knowing he was shoring things up behind them. Helped the defence too - knowing that he was cutting out a lot of threatening play.

I just hope it wasnt a one-off. If he plays as well as this consistently, sign him & pay him whatever he wants!

One thing that did surpise me was Bridcutt's stature. I expected someone taller & bulkier. Can't imagine why - Brown & Batty were hardly gorillas, were they? :D

Adeyemi looked a good player to support Wood and looked big and strong.

I agree with Evans too, but I fully understand where Byram is coming from. I'm sure at the back of his mind he's thinking of Matt Smith signing a new contract, only to be sold at first opportunity - i.e. he only got the offer to guarantee Cellino a higher fee. I think Byram probably thinks that his card is marked, and he'll be on his way asap, therefore he'll be able to get better terms if the transfer fee is smaller. Good luck to the lad. I'd personally like him to stay.

Whilst I'm talking about Byram, I have to say that I wondered about him being brought on as a sub. Why? We had other midfielders on the bench - why was he chosen before them?

Think he was expected to help Wooton out while still having some attacking threat.

Thinking earlier, whose scoring contributions have secured us most points this year? Stattos on your marks.

I think Adeymi has won 6 points from 2 goals from defensive mid? Who has done better and from what position?

Dallas was still doing that. We also had Erwin, Doukara & primarily Botaka who can all play RM.

Evans said Dallas told him he had nothing left he was fooked. To which Evans replied he would be up at 6 to go for a run if it wasn't for the price of Diesel, but would stay at home and have a bacon sarnie instead.<laugh>

Byram has 5 years now to maximise his career earnings, at 27 he' ll be regarded as past his prime and his salary command will begin to fall regardless of wherher he succeeds at the highest level or not in the interim.

If Cellino had messed me about the way he appears to have done Sam I'd be off with no regrets apart from for the fans I leave behind.

    No one should blame Sam.

I heard that, but remember - Byram came on for Mowatt & Dallas moved over to the left. It was another 6 minutes before Murphy came on for Dallas.

    Hey'up Bucks,

This is what I wrote just after match ended
I was listening to match via my Mars satellite relay link on dark side of moon.

Adeyemi could be another square peg in a square hole however, in past he's had a good game then follows it up with a couple of good to mediocre games, so hopefully he can keep the form he showed against Hull going.

Mowatt, didn't do too bad but I think he's way out of form and doesn't seem to be able to find it again; I said last season it will be one of the repercussions of the way Redders was talking up his academy players.

Cook played a better than his normal game and he seems to have learned what defence cutting through passes means, and can achieve, however, jury's still out till after a few more games after this one.

Dallas, run himself ragged from what I was listening too, had a good game and I think his best form is still waiting to be unleashed.

All up the midfield played much better, whether you were watching it, or listening to it, it was obvious to most if not everyone there was an improvement, which I think is down to Bridcutt and Adeyemi however, as we've seen in past, after 1 or 2 wins we seemed to go back to playing drivel.

We still need to strengthen the midfield though, I don't think the 4-1-4-1 formation had a lot to do with the performance, some, but not much. I think once Berardi comes back in at RB we should include Botaka more, from what I've seen Berardi and Botaka seem to link up well down the right flank.

Defence did a great job of holding it together after going 1 and then 2-0 up in front, I think their goal could've been prevented though; from the highlights there were too many defenders moving towards the right side of goal leaving room for their player to sneak in behind with a header, I also think Cooper, I think it was, should've done more in getting too ball before their player, he was caught wrong sided.

Silvestri had another great game, I personally have never seen any reason to replace him, he's more than a shot stopper and it seems Evans is managing to bring the best out of him.

I know some will disagree but I'm still not convinced about Wood, a 3 million quid player should have more goals at this stage and doing a lot more to get away from his man and cause problems for the defenders. I personally can't see reason for having a player that plays 1 good game then becomes a nomad for next 3,4 or 5 games. After 3,4, or 5 games playing the nomad, a slight improvement is always going to look better than it is.

Although listening to it (like many) via my Mars satellite relay link from dark side of moon, this game actually held my interest from beginning to end, if we perform like that virtually every game to come, there's no reason why we can't climb the ladder into top 6, but, it's a big IF.

Although some Hull fans may disagree, I think they played pretty good football, we just shook'em up with 2 first half goals. I was on Hull forum just before game, and many were saying they had a funny feeling they'd lose this one.

Evans deserves a well earned tray of meat pies and pizzas after this one........:emoticon-0163-pizza

    Funnily enough Jock,

We've had the likes of big Jack and Gordon McQueen, amongst others that have stood out in our midfield yet, it's the little maestro's that seem to stick out that bit further, Billy Bremner, Giles, Flynn, as you pointed out Batty and brown aren't gorillas either, to name a few............We love the midgets, lol.

Not if they were exempt it wouldn't. <doh>

What it really proved is , no point reducing match reports from the dark side of the moon which is what I thought all the way along...

+1 on this along with his previous treatment in this contract saga. Add to it the fact he will have his agent barking in his ear.
