    An honest opinion.

He had a good game, but he wont get an easier time all season.
We play with no pace, no intent, our wingers don't take a man on and would need an A to Z to find the byline to get a cross in.
Our draw was very lucky, you should have been out of sight!

It wasn't said in jest. 7/10 indicated that I agreed with most of it. Trying to show that despite appearences I do agree with much of wjs match related analysis.

Adding my small match report to yours Jock, which I listened to on the radio via my Mars satellite link on dark side of moon,

Listening to match commentary, for most of the match my thoughts were "we're playing a hell of a lot better than the previous 2 games and things are looking up", then they scored, and I thought, here we go again. However, despite us being 1 goal down the team seemed to keep up their moment and kept going forward.

When Wood scored the equaliser I just said "phew, thank God for that" however, despite him scoring with a good overhead bike kick, it doesn't make him a bloody good striker, if that was the case players like Bellusci and Cooper would be strikers and Morison classed as a king, neither happened.

Woods gesture to the fans will come back to bite him on arse, big time. There weren't just one or two, or a small group that have come to realise Wood's no good for us, it was a lot of'em. Personally, I've always said he's not a prolific or impact striker, and I remember getting a bit of stick for my opinions but I still stick by my guns.

He's been here for 2 seasons now and the return on the 3m investment is dismall, he should by now be knocking'em in on a regular basis. I got a funny feeling he's a Monk favourite, for now.

I'd like to see Roofe upfront with Antonsson, if Monk plays Roofe out of position then put Duke in there, latter half of last season Duke was doing a good job, untill he got suspended.

Antonsson seemed very busy, missed a few chances but I agree jock, it'll come; I think he's going to give us a flurry of goals in near future. Antonsson reminds me a little of Antenucci, he seems to be looking for that defence splitting pass that he can run onto beating the offside trap. He puts himself about which we need from a striker, I think he's going to come close as our top goal scorer, if not the top goal getter.

For the game time Ayling has had, he's had some good reviews and plaudits, looks to be doing a better job than Coyle, but still a gap between him and Berardi. Looking at the highlights Ayling made a bit of a blunder in area which could've been costly, lapse in concentration maybe?, who knows but hopefully he recognised it and improves in that respect.

Cooper, good to see him back, I think him and Bartley could be the partnership to replace the Cooper/Bellusci partnership, although from what I've seen, Bartley can look clumsy at times.

    Bamba may well be gone.

Mowatt, absolutely agree Jock, I think Mowatt's lost it.

Green, as everyone knows he's not my first choice keeper, but apparently Silvestri has recently started training again after his injury, with the big boys again.

I class Green as an animated keeper, for most of time he goes through the motions rather than put effort into actually getting to the ball. Seems to be out of position by one or two steps a lot.

Could he have saved the goal............my answer is yes. He's 6ft*2ins tall, he should've been able to get across and save the shot, he wasn't blind sided, if Green had've took the one step to his right, which he should've done if he was following the ball with his body as well, then he would've saved it imo.

Looking at the highlights Fulham were unlucky not to get more than one goal, but we had our share of rough luck too.

Good write up Jock, well worth reading............:emoticon-0148-yes:

Afternoon from a bloody hot part of Spain. Agree I thought Monk was buying for 4-2-3-1. Personally I thought bridcutt and Dave were good doing that role last season. From the qpr game and other reports, it sounds like new ant should be given the lone role up front. Couldn't find anywhere to see or even follow last nights game.

Actually, I blessed you because you give me something, giving me 0 is better than giving me nothing at all, I very much appreciated it.

Actually, my views were not a rehash of anyone else's views, I am my own person, as you well know; that's just you making false accusations. I agreed with some things Jock said and let him know, I have reason to believe you did exactly the same thing when you gave him 7 out of 10......:emoticon-0148-yes:

Here's hoping you have a great day Chippy.....:emoticon-0148-yes:

Slight problem with that you gave your views blind, I on the other hand was there and saw what WJ saw, and I drew similar if less rosey opinions. So if you didn't get your views from listening or reading reports from others you just made them up. Now why would you do that? Are you just a troll?

Did the Radio commentator give a view,or was LL assessment based on his own view of what he heard and watched on highlights ?.

If he heard it, then all he is giving is his opinion on someone elses opinion of what happened.
If he based his view on a 30 second highlight reel then he might as well not have bothered.
What he actually did was see the score, read a few online reports and produce a composite of these and posted as if he knew more than he does. I find that really weird.

    Where did I say that?
The result might have been better on Tuesday night, but the performance was every bit as abject as the one on Saturday (despite your optimistic view in the wendy thread). You will struggle to find many who saw both games saying anything too different.
If we were to play as badly for the rest of the season we would be relegated.
It's very early days but the league table isn't lying!

I can totally understand people giving a match report based on seeing it on TV or actually being there but I must admit, doing so based on radio commentary really does baffle me.

You're then basing it on what the radio commentator saw, he might be biased, he might have missed something, there are so many things to take into account, it is like Chinese whispers.

There is no difference basing your belief and findings via a radio reporter than there is reading it in a newspaper, unless you see it with your own eyes it can't be your own assessment.

He didn't even listen to the whole match, just "most" of it. I too find it really weird but I guess it is harmless, I read LL's threads and opinions and ignore match reports knowing what I know.
