Could be but that's the only posiiton up for debate in my opinion. Cresswell will have to make do with being on the bench unless someone has a knock/injury before Sunday.
Byram played 54 games in 4 years at Norwich so you can understand the caution and why negotiations are taking some time.
I’m hoping the delay is more to do with possible other signings and maybe we’re getting closer to signing a proper LB
Cresswell should start at RCB, he just signed a 4 year deal and played in this division last year. Playing between the experience of Ayling and Cooper will help. Looks like a player who is not scared to get stuck in, I can't see any point square pegging struijk.
You'll have to clear that with Emu & Milky because when I said Llorente was being played out of position on the left side and in the process being ruined by Marsche apparently that was bollocks
If a centre half can't play central then he shouldn't be a professional footballer. They can have a preferred side by all means but it is in no way square pegging if Cooper has to play RCB. Everyone seems quite happy with Williams coming from scum to play left back. Not sure everyone has cottoned on that he's right footed yet.
As we do not have a fit 9 is their any point trying to shoehorn say James to play there? Our attacking line up is not very tall, there is no point running to the byeline and crossing for a header, Championship defenders will out muscle us and lap it all day long. However we do have pace and trickery, james gnoto sini summerville. Maybe better go without a 9 play the ball on the deck, with a 433.
I know there's a 'home grown' rule, but not sure of the details. Does it apply to the team on the field or the named squad - & do we get a pass?
As always whenever you look online, different sites report the rules differently, so as per the norm for me, the following is taken from the Rules and Regulations on the EFL website. Rule 34.8 - Each club shall required to nominate a minimum of 7 home grown players in their match day squad for all league games, including play off matches. 34.9 - a home grown player is defined as (when pertaining to the EFL) a player who has been registered with his club, or with a club registered with either the English or Welsh FA's, for a total period of 36 months, prior to their 21st birthday, or the end of the season they turn 21. 34.11 - in addition each match day squad should also include 1 club grown player. A club grown player is defined as per above, except they must spend 36 registered at the club. Should a player be sent out on loan to a club within either the English or Welsh FA authority, then this time counts in favour of the parent club. 34.12 - Failure to name a club grown player in the match day squad, requires the club to name one less substitute for that match, than normally permitted. 34.12.1 - if the club have sold 2 players that would qualify as club grown and they are aged 24 or under prior to 1st January 2024 and have join a club with either the English or Welsh FA's authority, then there is no requirement to name a club grown player. Hope that is now all clear as mud So who qualifies as what Darlow - Home Grown Meslier - not qualified (sorry I got this one wrong previously, as FIFA rules state prior to turning 22, which would mean he qualifies, but EFL rules state he doesn't) klaesson - not qualified Ampadu - Home Grown Cresswell - Club Grown Cooper - Home Grown Struijk - Club Grown Firpo - not qualified Hjelde - qualifies as club grown next season Drameh - Home Grown Ayling - Home Grown Dallas - not qualified Adams - not qualified Gyabi - Home Grown Shackleton - Club Grown Greenwood - Home Grown Harrison - not qualified Sinisterra - not qualified Gnonto - not qualified ( would qualify as club grown in 25/26 season if he's still here) Summerville - Club Grown James - Home Grown Costa - not qualified Poveda - Home Grown Rutter - not qualified Bamford - Home Grown Gelhardt - Home Grown Perkins - Home Grown Gray - qualifies as Club Grown next season Joseph - qualifies as club grown , January 2025 So I make it we have 12 Home Grown players, 4 club grown players. So providing at least 7 of those 16 are named in a match day squad then I don't think we need to worry about the squad in respect of regulations. 13 of the above presently do not or will never be able to qualify as home grown. Any other concerns regarding the status of the squad are of course up to each individual
Bit of a random one but does anyone know where I can watch the game in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia tomorrow?
