This is where we,as a club, have to be stronger. There are millions of pounds at stake here. We get more than our fair share of **** decisions. I mean, there have been 2 rule changes because of the goals we have conceded/scored. We should be in touch with the FA demanding an explanation of the decisions that have gone against us.
Fair marks and assessments. Not sure Koch was a 9, but as one of his biggest critics I’m not going to nitpick, he did really well.
Are the suspensions for the cup game or the league game at wham, I have a feeling it's the league game as a different comp but not certain
I think today showed that even though Roberts sees himself as a CF, Bielsa sees him as a 10. His workrate, ball retention and link up play can make things happen but his finishing needs work. I thought Firpo was class today, good defencively and a threat going forward. One of our biggest problems is lack of composure around the box, especially Harrison. Firpo looks like he can thread a pass. I think Gelhardt will be a fantastic super sub but I'm not sure I'd start him yet. Given Burnley are supposed to be excellent in the air I thought we dealt with them comfortably. Great win and just goes to show the vast difference in quality top to bottom in the PL.
Maybe I over marked him. I may have overestimated the aerial threat of Burnley. He was very strong physically and that was the key (in my mind) to today's game. We actually bullied Burnley all over the park. They will be battered and bruised in the morning. Forshaw, Firpo, Roberts, Koch all left their foot in. I love a bit of nastiness in a team and we never let them dictate to us.
Wakey strikes again harrison was spent second half. James used his pace and looked much better out wide.
he had an ‘inconsistent’ rep at Rennes. I thought he was inconsistent last season, despite the largely deserved plaudits he gets. Personally, because of the amazing things he regularly does, i think fans are often blind to how average he also is quite frequently. Some of that is because he plays on the edge trying the killer ball …so you have to accept the rough with the smooth …but some is him just not seeming to know when to play the percentages. Not knocking him, he’s a great talent and as discussed he works hard for the team.
I’ve panned Koch for his defensive weakness and naivity, but agree today he proper ‘manned up’ As a team, we snapped at their heels and forced errors out of them all day
Wonder what kind of punishment we’ll be hit with regarding the bottle hitting there player in the face. Dyche was actually very good when asked about it
Will be interesting to see what the corrupt FA say or do after they deal with the identical incident at the Emirates yesterday.
