Leeds Utd V Brentford Wednesday 21st August 19.45pm | Elland Road Big spending Brentford are the visitors to Elland Road midweek but expect all eyes to be on a certain Swede!!! So far this season, the Bees lost at home against Birmingham on the opening day of the season, they then beat Boro at the Riverside and most recently drew at Griffin Park against Hull. Cambridge also dumped Brentford out of the League Cup on penalties. Whilst it is far too early for the Championship table to assemble any real credence, you'd expect Leeds to be the happier. Bielsa's biggest headache at the moment will be how to satisfy circa 20 players, all good enough for first team action! Will the Argentine rotate the starting XI that dominated the ten men of Wigan? This early on, is this a must win game, or would you settle for a draw? What changes if any would you make?
I would think about playing Costa and Nketiah for this one as they’re unknown quantities for Jansson, but I think Bielsa won’t focus so much on him that it will influence his decisions to be honest.
Think if there is any minor knocks, he will change players, can't let players end up knackered again, like last season.
Far too early for a must win, never settle for a point at home, always want and expect a win regardless of opposition. 2-1 win
Agree, but I'd love it if Bielsa played Edmondson & told him to get in Jansson's face & rough him up. I think he'd see it as a huge insult & lose it. Edmondson's behaviour would upset him too. A man can dream
Perhaps, or mibbe Eddie out wide? Seriously though, the LC was prolly his break, as the next round might be too.
Afternoon all. Appears Bielsa might be rotating his loanees for the match day squads, Eddie, Clarke & the French keeper all have missed out once. Not sure why we don't just sign the keeper on a permanent deal, which you can do outside of the window rather than titting around. The fee must be nominal.
Take that back, they turned down 10 million Euros If that's right Casilla will be gone in Jan or next summer
Really??? Then what the **** is he doing here as a back-up keeper (that didn't make a match day squad). Sorry, just can't believe that's true. Like you WTF
Casilla would have been gone this summer if they could find takers for his 40k a week salary over the next 3 and half years
Brentford are another one of those teams that you'd think are nailed on for a top 10 finish. If they get on a bit of a run and a few decisions go their way, they could end up being this seasons Sheffield United. Like I say, there are a number of teams like that.
