Let me get this right, LeedsLover - you were at the match but didn't pop your head round the meetup door to say hello? Shame on you! Re. Adryan, there's no-one who wanted him to succeed more than me. Sadly, we only got to see flashes of what he was capable of, usually in the form of exciting, meandering runs. Sadly, the runs usually came to nothing. His big failing was not getting back to help the defence, which is fair enough if you're a talent like Paul Gasgoigne, but not if you're a young buck trying to make a name for himself in the Championship. There are very few talents who have been given a free role in the Championship, and not one of them was a first year hopeful. Then came 'the tackle'. How embarrassing was that? Killed any hope of him getting credibility with the fans. Bottom line - he was brought in in the hope that he's be our creative spark, but turned out to be a damp squib. Perhaps if we'd carried him in the team for 5 years he might have started to shine?
People look at players differently chippy, just because someone has a similar opinion doesn't mean you've been vindicated, will it mean I've been vindicated if someone has a similar opinion to me, no, it does make it our opinions though, as different as they may be.
In this case it means that he failed to impress the 5 PROFESSIONAL managers we had under the mad man last year, and he has gone on to repeat the trick at Nante. Take the hint he isnt what you and me hoped he would be....
Wasn't Morison, Sharp and Wood brought in for same reason Jock, and aren't they damp squids at moment too. What I have always said is, Adryan was a good potential for us, he had the skill, ability and the quick mind, and a coach who virtually despised him in favour of his golden Cookie boy, who isn't turning out to be the golden boy Redders made him out to be. Don Revie knew how to bring out the best in Eddie Gray, the rest is history in that respect, Adryan needs a decent coach who can work with him, as do all players. Are they the 5 professional managers that most Leeds fans were calling for their sacking, hardly a good reference Chippy as you were one of'em too. Are Cook, Byram and Mowatt turning out to be the golden boys that some said they were last season?
You will get the chance to say how right you were when he proves you right. Until then he is a diving, ineffective lightweight that has only proved good at warming a bench and very occasionally flattering to deceive by looking flash whilst running into blind alleys... Cellino thought he was going to be great.... For that reason alone he must be ****e. With the greatest of respect. You won't find a post from me saying any of our players were going to be golden boys... Quite the opposite.
Wow Chippy, Adryan gets kicked on his ankle bone and you call him a diver. I suspect you've never played football. I played keeper at high levels for a number of years, and let me tell you I've had a lot of boots on my ankle and shin bones; a kick on ankle bone is very very painfull, one instance put me in hospital. I respect the fact you have a dislike for Cellino, but I think he knows more about football than you do Chippy, he's been in it a long time......
I won't be taking lectures from anyone who thinks this is acceptable and tries to justify it. I would suggest you have made a big enough fool of yourself but if you want the last word to reinforce the point carry on........
No, they were brought in to score goals, not to be a creative spark in midfield. Most managers have the fans howling after their blood towards the end of their tenure, unless they've been poached by another team, so your point is not valid.
LL, you still haven't responded to my most important question yet - why didn't you pop in to see us at the meetup yesterday if you were at the game?
I love it towards the end when it looks like he's getting up, and performs a scissors kick before rolling over some more
