Bout time Monk, Wood off and Roofe on, Wood was like a brick wall but the Roofe is made of sterner stuff.

Woods days are numbered as a regular first teamer.

Again... Our preseason was pathetic, no time for Monk to work out our best formation or players, of all people you would imagine he would know good from bad defending.

Pressure is now on, he is obviously going to need time, will Cellino offer him that luxury.

Monk desperately wants to play 4-2-3-1 and when you join a team with a £3m striker you have to build it around him.

Pressure was on after day one and I feel today's switch to 4-4-2 is part desperation and part not having the signings he wanted to finish the job.

Bridcutt and Diacouraga were his two, Bridcutt we can't get over the line and Diacouraga seems to have lost it.

I can't help wonder if Monk knew what he does now about the squad would our signings have been different? Monk and Cellino were looking for players to form the three behind Wood. With him not performing, Grimes and Mowatt being poor on day one I think Monk is feeling confused.

I want to give him and the team time to sort it out but I didn't like it that he changed to 4-4-2 when we should have the players to make 4-2-3-1 work if organised enough
