Interesting again. Hay alludes to shots on target being the issue, and you (and I, I might add) say that the issue is more about coming off the line.

I had a wee look at the stats again. These are also 'interesting'. Apparently Derby had 8 shots against us, and 9 on target. Nope, not a misprint from me! The Blades had 0 shots on target, yet scored 2 goals! So, using these 'reliable' stats, I continued ....

Games played - W (Weidwald) 12, L (Lonergan) 7
Total SA (Shots Against) - W 132, L 82
Total SoTA (Shots on Target Against) - W 35, L 30
SA per Game - W 12.2, L 11.7
SoTA per Game - W 3.2, L 4.3

Not a great deal to come out of this, tbh. Weidwald coped with half a shot more per game, but Lonners had to face an extra shot on target per game. Nowt in it, really, is there?

So, for those who've given Weidwald a hard time to date, he's prolly still a cnut, even though the stats don't bear it out.

Have to pass a related observation, though. When Lonners played, it was like watching us 2 seasons ago. Humping it up the park then see it hurtling back towards you was the name of the game (remember, we've largely got midgets upfield fighting against giant defenders). It's a whole different game when Weidwald plays. Much sharper play all round, more possession, and greater intensity.

Nick whiterthan white welcome mate WJ your stats are still missing the most pertinent thing mate. Yes I agree with your findings which will as usual pee off a few but Greene is statistiscally a worse keeper than Felix. To add to that can we go back to the start of this thread where we discussed an unsettled mish mash of defenders instead of a settled back 4 unit. Meaning if Greene had to cope with that shyte in front of him he would have conceded more, retired, gone into the Proiry clinic

My view is we have a better keeper than last season who has had to face a lot of shyte and deserves our support

Agreed. Nothing has changed we are not good enough to compete with the better teams (and some of the crap ones).
