We all wish our strikers were better or some magic coaching will improve them. Sadly it won’t. They’re not up to required standard. New blood urgently needed in that area with a proven goal scoring record Bamford and Rodrigo simply not good enough but must be seemingly better than the lads on the bench. Sad setup

The problem is that Marsch was left with a mediocre squad from Bielsa.

Jesse is dealing with Cooper who wasn't rated by a string of coaches in the last 8 years. Firpo who is the biggest waste of £18 million. Bamford who can hardly score. Rodrigo who is well below par for a supposed International. Foshaw who spends more time injured than on the pitch. The list goes on. We should have sold the 30 plus year old gang in the summer but it would have meant doing a Forest and signing players fun.

All very true. There’s a hell of a lot of them need moving on. NExt summer, many with little or no resale value. I’ll be very curious to see who will mastermind the operation and finance it if we’re in pl still. If we’re not it’ll be easier I suppose Make a team out of the u23,’s and let the over 30’s off

In 9 seasons at the club, only Monk didn't fancy Cooper, every other season until the last 2 (still started over 50% of the games we played in those two) he playedover 30 games for us every season, so I wouldn't say a string of coaches didn't rate him. One coach just preferred to play Bartley and Jansson in one season and Cooper still managed to play in 25% of the games that season

The problem is I think this season will hinge on the January window. He's had 8 or 9 leagues this season plus pre-season to see what we need. Apart from a striker who knows where the goal is I think we need to re-jig the back four not just sign a LB. We need another CB. Llorente is crap so we replace him with Cooper who isn't that good really. The problem is that January is 'bad business' as Simon Jordan once said.

We got mugged by Arsenal today. There's no reason Bamford's goal should have been disallowed. We deserved at least a draw today. We made a lot of signing during the Summer, but we are still 2 or 3 short, mostly up front.

I know it’s a while ago but can’t forget Fabregas throwing a wobbly in our penalty area to get the winning goal
    Prat’s the lot of then

I'm not being anti biased towards Cooper, but Cooper has an opportunity to intercept / clear the ball that Jesus almost put away, and also should have done a lot better to stop Bako from scoring.

That’s not strictly true or fair. Bielsa inherited a squad and got them promoted. JM doesn’t have to pick Cooper but did and massively bigged him up, particularly his leadership qualities. Not a lot wrong with today’s performance other than Rodrigo’s inexplicable pass and our usual woeful finishing.

Bamford should have been booked for that dive at the end, not the first time he’s nearly got someone sent off
