Full Time Leeds Utd 2-0 Sunderland Bits and pieces second half due to Poveda being badly injured 5 minutes into the second half leaving us with only 10 men. Again Gelhardt got a couple of shots away and played some fantastic football for the second goal. Huggins on the scoresheet after a quick ball from Gelhardt to Skackelton who raced down the right and squared for Huggins to smash home. Cresswell and Casey were great as CBs with Drameh as RWB, Jenkins did some decent stuff at DM but we were unbalanced down the left being a man down. Some good dedending and even Kiko pulled off a couple of saves. They got a shot off for the first time on 58 minutes. Not a great second half compared to the first but understandable
He was chasing back to put a tackle in but looked like he was trod on from behind or his ankle turned over or ligament snapped. He was in agony and laid on the pitch for 6 minutes or so before being helped off. Hoping its not ligament
Stevens started for Bradford today. Edmondson did well in his 82 minutes for Northampton. Northampton just don't look like scoring but Edmondsons build up play was very good apparently.
Half time Boro 0-4 Leeds Utd Max Dean, Nohan Kenneh, Joe Gelhardt, Joe Gelhardt. Outstanding players so far Cody Drameh, Nohan Kenneh, Joe Gelhardt, Elia Caprille. Quite a few Under 18s in this squad today and obviously Cresswell is either rested or is on the first team bench tomoz. Kenneh playing with Casey at CB instead of the DM role he plays for the U18s.
Seems like a strange game. Boro were favourites to win, and even though they're 4-0 down they're favourites to score the next goal. They must have some first teamers playing. If so it makes the score line even more impressive.
Ashkey Fletcher up front for them but has been thwarted by Kenneh and Drameh and Caprille in goal. Gelhardt is showing him what a striker can dowho isnt just a big lump
One player who alsomdeserved a mention was Crycensio Summerville, fantastic skill level and drive. 2nd half underway and Gelhardt is replaced so we may see him on the bench tomoz? Boro have scored to make it 1-4 but Greenwood is just about to take a penalty for Leeds
Full Time Boro 2-4 Leeds Utd Greenwood hit the post from the penalty, but the second half was a battle which they won. Most ofbthe Leeds team were U18s against a very big powerful Boro and it showed. Nohan Kenneh, Ollie Casey, Cody Drameh, Crycencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood were excellent. Pitch, weather were unhelpful but another great win to put Leeds even further away at the top of the league
I saw his goal today on a FB link, he’s scoring some cracking goals he deserves a place on the on the first team bench
Player ratings from 2 different publications Elia Caprile 7.5 and 7 Cody Drameh 8 and 8 Ollie Casey 8.5 and 7.5 Liam McCarron 8 and 7 Nohan Kenneh 8 and 8 Jack Jenkins 7.5 and 7 Stuart McKinstry 8 and 8 Sam Greenwood 7.5 and 7.5 Max Dean 8 and 8 Crysencio Summerville 9 and 9 Joe Gelhardt 10 and 8.5 Kris Moore 6.5 and 6.5 Charlie Allen 7 and 6.5
Edmondson can’t even make a struggling Northampton Town team at the moment, came on for the last 7 minutes today. The guy keeping him out is nothing to shout about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Rose_(footballer,_born_1993)
He has started every game for them until today. His last game was his best according to the local press but the manager (Keith Curle) was sacked this week and the new manager played just one upfront today. Edmondson left Aberdeen because he was on the bench so it won't sit well if he is benched at Northampton.
Almost half time we have a very good, tight match played by the top 2 teams in the league. Gelhardt has been unplayable up top and on another day would have had 3 penalties, 2 of which were nailed on but the ref ignored them. Cresswell made one error but other than that is having his usual great game as is Drameh and Kenneh. Davies doing some damage from LWB and has outpaced everyone today and Summerville on the right when he gets the ball looks very dangerous. As I write this Summerville has just cut Reading apart down the right and fired in a great cross for Liam McCarron to open the scoring and quickly followed by a 2nd from Stuart McKinstry after good work from Gelhardt laying the ball into his path 2-0 Half time Leeds
Just tuned in at the end of the first half. Surprised to see Kiko in goal. Got my wee brain working overtime. Getting game u23 time routinely, or in preparation for (perhaps) standing in for Meslier?
Full time Leeds Utd 3-0 Reading Gelhardt created the 3rd goal almost straight from kick off the 2nd half by harassing the keeper and McKinstrey slotted into an empty net. Gelhardt replaced on the hour after a great performance but no goals today. Huggins came on for the 2nd half but the second half was scrappy and a war. best performers were Cresswell, Kiko, McCarron, McKinstrey, Kenneh, Drameh and Gelhardt.
