It seems a lot of them are playing in a meaningless tournament in marbella, I bumped into a group of england Under somethings in the supermarket yesterday evening, did a bit of translating for them as they were a bit lost.
We had 16 year old lads playing in the game, today. Most of our players were about 18 years old and we didn't start our 5 best players as we are keeping them to start for our first team against Man Utd u23's in that ****ty pizza cup.
Everton tonight away at the Pure Stadium and yet again we get no tv stream from LUTV, so have to rely on dodgy updates. Hopefully we should get a full team out tonight for a change unless Bielsa wants Joffy, Summerville, Drameh and Cresswell held back again?
It's a joke not being on LUTV. Obviously not our doing but FFS what's wrong with letting fans be more connected with the club they support ?
2mins to go Everton 4-2 Leeds HT Subs Drameh replaced Hjede McKinstryreplaced Summerville Gelhardt replaced Greenwood.
The problem the U23s have this season and remember we are in a much higher league quality wise. The shortages of first team players means our best 23s are only playing 45 minutes so that they can be available for the first team bench. I know its a development league but we have some great players that are not being allowed to shine as much and we are pushing some 16/17yo kids a bit early. We have lost some games recently we were winning and should have closed out but make changes at half time. We also leave ourselves short if a player gets injured because we already used the subs at half time. So first team squad injuries is effecting the whole club
Tbf I can’t see how the halftime changes weakened the team when the likes of Drameh, McKinstry and Gelhardt were introduced - they’re three of the better ones. Also there’s the added inconvenience of another team involved. Without knowing the ins and outs of Everton’s squad do we actually know whether they played a weakened side in the first half only to introduce better players for the second?
Agreed but upsetting the pattern of play doesnt help. Drameh and Summerville have a great partnership on the right yet Summerville taken off and McKinstry is a very good player but he isnt Summerville on the right and usually plays on the left. Greenwood and Gelhardt together is a potent combination as both switch between 9&10 with ease and damage the oppositions defence. We are not playing our best 11 and its hurting us
23s at home on Friday in York but just watch team selection as I believe we will not have our best team on the pitch e cept maybe for 45mins
Well here we go, no Captain Cresswell, no Joffy, no Summerville and Max Dean up top who needs to score tonight. Sam playing at 10 who will be dezzy to show his skills tonight. Not even a big bench so obviously pre arranged swaps at half time
Leeds were the best team on the night but failed to put away chances. Amari Miller was MoM which is great news as the kid starts to fit in and show why he is considered the English Summerville down the left. Sam Greenwood got the assist for Snowdons goal and Klaesson had another good night in goal. The Brighton keeper was their MoM and kept them alive. No wins at home though so far but we are only playing with half of the best 23s due to first team injury list
