we’ve just lost our best attacker in my view but Anthony is a decent squad addition and probably a better off the ball than the others. I’m not too worried about us going forward.

We'll create plenty by just huffing and puffing our way through defences. It's the finishing I worry about. Against Salford the same old players snatching at shots, dithering or firing high and wide.

Piroe should help that though and if he can get 20 goals this season and the rest of the attackers and midfields all chip in with decent amount 6-10 each for the CAM and wingers, a couple for midfielders and defenders and we’ll be fine.

Spence was great at forest at champ level, couldn’t get in spurs team and struggled at Rennes. Plus side is he’s played a bit at Rennes with Rodon so hopefully they have a bit of understanding. Another who’s better on the front foot than back foot. Agree it seems a marginal improvement.

it’s ok fella. We have a top coach now. He will probably do advanced stuff like shooting practice. That’ll sort it.

Have a feeling Emu will come to the conclusion that Leeds are a better and more balanced team this season in all positions except keeper and LB :emoticon-0148-yes: well that’s my opinion anyway

I’m surprised Drameh wasn’t Farkes first choice but what a replacement in Spence. This season wins it for both quality and depth, last season we didn’t actually have Drameh as we’d loaned him out

Better this year, did Wober play at LB last year, for me it’s the same Firpo and Struijk but the addition of Byram and Shackleton to cover. Not a lot in it but better suited cover

    Centre Backs.

Last season - Llorente, Koch, Cooper, Struijk, Wober.

This season - Cooper, Rodon, Struijk, Cresswell, Hjelde.

The addition of Cresswell and Rodon has certainly added a more defensive mindset to our group but again, Wober would still probably make our XI. There's not much in it in my opinion. It's still way too weak. I genuinely feel Rodon and Cresswell are our best pairing.

Probably no different to last year. Too early for me to make a call on Rodon. But thought our centre backs were well below required standard last year. This year? Well the required standard is much lower but still think it’s an area we could do with adding to in Jan.

    Centre Midfield.

Last season - Adams, Roca, Forshaw, Aaronson, McKennie, Klich, Gyabi.

This season - Ampadu, Gray, Gruev, Kamara, Shackleton, Gyabi, Bate.

I think Ampadu is better than Adams. I think Gray is better than Roca. I'm underwhelmed by Kamara who I've always seen as a show pony and know nothing of Gruev. Shackleton is better than Aaronson but we could do with the vision of Klich. Overall the pairing of Ampadu and Gray is an upgrade on anything we had last year. Adams was the pick of the bunch but Ampadu overshadows his skillset anyway.

Much depends on the new pair regarding depth.
