Apparently Philips agent has said he would like a contract that reflects his players role and importance in the team. The press are putting 2+2 together and assuming he wants to be paid the same as the top two earners, Kiko and Bamford who are supposedly both on £30k a week. Me personally, I’d give him that or near too it and sell Forshaw, Philips is a starter, I’d like to see Shackleton ahead of Forshaw, we have O’Kane coming back from injury, another we can shift on, I forget if we’ve sold Cibicki and Ideguchi, another two who won’t feature. Save some wages with those we don’t need, give Philips his pay rise, another season like last and he’ll either win promotion with us or be worth even more in a years time.
