McDonut has said Diouf can leave the club <yikes> How can you lot possibly believe this guy is right for your club <yikes> brings in 9 players all of whom are struggling to make the team (and you should only bring in players who will improve on what you already have) and yet is happy to let your best player leave <doh>

shouldnt he be doing everything he can to convince him to stay ?

Our professional funeral goer only reappeared at ER cos Bobby Collins has died. Get him off the wage bill IMO.

Personally I would allow him to go, he must be on at least £10k a week and he hardly features now, looked over weight when he came on yesterday

McDermott would consider Diouf offer Championship, Last updated: 5 hours 52 minutes ago Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has admitted he would let El-Hadji Diouf leave the club if a suitable offer was made. The 33-year-old is out of the first-team at Elland Road under McDermott, but he did come on as a second-half sub against Leicester in the 0-1 defeat on Saturday. That appearance was his first since early October, despite being a key member of the team last season. He still has six months to run on his current deal, but McDermott admits they won't stand in the former Liverpool Bolton and Blackburn man's way should a reasonable offer come in. He said: "I told him I'm trying to build something here. "If there's an opportunity that's right for him then, yes, he can go. But if not, then he's here." Read more about Championship.

So he can go,but if he doesn't he's here?

It's news from a few days ago that seemed to be overlooked, taken out of context it seems like we want rid of EHD but it seems more of a prompted response to BMD been asked about plans for/with EHD.

McDermott said: “I told him I’m trying to build something here."

“If there’s an opportunity that’s right for him, then yes (he can go).

“But if not then he’s here.”

That's all that was said on the matter that I've seen so take that as you will, I'd heard rumours that if EHD was to play again his wage would rise due to a clause in his contract about number of games or something to that account but not been able to find out any concrete info. His addition yesterday would suggest that it's bs or that it was possibly on a yearly basis and the periods ended. Either way he was playing for 5k a week before and his wages double when he signed for his last contract so at least 10k a week.

I'd rather he was involved than not, he is the type of player who can make a difference but due to lack of involvement and how he looks physically I'm sure we're all right in saying he ain't match fit. Funerals/Injuries and whatever other bollocks this season, if he was to go we get a small fee (not too likely) and save 200k on his wages.

He's not going to want less brass than he's getting now ideally so it's in his interests if it ain't happening to go on a free in summer and try to get his fitness up/game time in while getting 10k a week so that he can aim for a contract renewal or demanding the wage he'd like when available on a free.

I'm hoping he pulls his finger out and gets more involvement over the next twenty games a fitter, money hungry EHD worrying about the dole queue/impending future wage cut might just give us that extra spark and without bringing anyone new in.

On the plus side only twelve days of January to go and all the rumours, ifs and buts can **** off for four/five months.

Cheers Stellar. EHD maybe carrying a few pounds, but he hasn't played for a number of weeks. So no great surprise. I suspect he probably will go, but I also think it would be a mistake. He still has more experience and more ability than most in our squad. But where he best fits int to a 442 formation with all the other players we have, I wouldn't like to say.
