Supporting the team has never been in doubt. But we won half a game playing the shambles that is blackpool. Take a reality check mate. It will prove less painful. Second half we were ****.
Instead of knocking the result lets look at the positives Cooper wil be a class act do you agree with me or not no doubt this will be booked marked by Glory We have the makings of a team who could make the playoffs Redfearn whom I believe to be a honest man yes they do exist in football ststed quite clearly that he will probably sign one or two loanees next few days So lets remain positive please and yes I met a supporter that had watched Leeds almost as long as me and we remenisced about 56 when we beat Blackpool on bowing day 5=0 I asked Whitejock do I look as old as him as ever he evaded the question a true gentleman but I still think I could have given him 20 years!
As your friend the wicked witch once said [rejoyce] There's very little between any team in this league,if you can play 1 team off the park, you can beat any.
Didn't you also feel Smith and Murphy were going to be great players? Honestly, one win against the worst team in the entire division and you really believe we can make the playoffs??? Not to mention we actually lost the second half so one 45 minute performance!! I am pleased with the win but it was expected, if we had lost to Blackpool we really had no hope. Blackpool haven't won away all season, they concede at least two goals a game, they are Division 1/2 material, they had a problem finding 11 players before the season started
Well what can we make of that yesterday. First half was the best football I have seen us play for..........well years. The second was well summed up by glory, we were w**k. Good to see Sam back in the groove down the right side, I thought we had lost him for good, he seemed to have lost his way. Of course the balanced view should include that Blackpool are bottom of the table for a reason.........they are a complete shambles, and the worry is that they run the second half. I know people will say that anyone can beat anyone in this league but Blackpool were the worst team I have seen this season. That said a good win, and an excellent display for 45 minutes.
It's the same every week mate, we beat poor opponents and suddenly we start shouting how we can make the playoffs. We lose to the likes of Cardiff and the excuse is we rarely beat them, when we lose to Derby/Blackburn the excuse will be what do you expect they are a top team in form challenging at the top. I wouldn't expect too many points from our next 4 games, things are set to get very tough and I expect very worrying for us. That is unless we can put in two good 45 minute performances in the same game, something we have failed to do all season so far.
Looking at the bigger picture it's now 14 points from 7 games under Redfearn. Keep that average up and we'll finish the season on 78 points. Even if we average 1.5 points per game, which is more what I'd expect us to do, we'll end up comfortably mid table
Not so sure that is looking at the bigger picture, if you went to any of the matches under Redfearn earlier in the season you would have walked out the ground thinking how the hell did we win that. Bolton hammered us at home and we won 1-0. You cannot expect that to happen too often over the season.
I've seen a few of Redfearn's games and I'd say the points haul is about right. 6 lucky points against Bolton and Bournemouth, 6 points unluckily dropped against Birmingham, Wednesday and Charlton, so it evened itself out
I agree with this 100% Getting tired of hearing deluded fans thinking we'll make the playoffs just cause we beat Blackpool! We never manage to perform for a full 90 minutes! We are nowhere near matching the quality of the teams that are in the top 10 of this league and won't be by the end of the season!
When you say seen games, do you mean went to, or watched on TV. There seems to be a split of opinions on here between people who go to matches and people who watch on TV/internet links. I think watching on a screen does make matches seem better than they really are.
During the summer most agreed we'd be happy with a mid table finish this season. We're one point away from that but few seem happy. Will Leeds fans ever be happy though I wonder
TV/Internet links so far this season. Went to about 12 games last season and by the end of this season, aim to have done the same, starting with Ipswich away in December. Home games are a 450 mile round trip for me, plus over £100 in expenses, so usually only one or two games at Elland Road Take your point re the difference in being there or watching on TV/Internet, but what I do know is that out of the games I attended last season, only Charlton away was any good. The others like Reading and Millwall away etc were shameful.
No I think we agreed mid table and buying the ground back As it stands we are not mid table, we are not buying the ground back and Cellino has recouped more in transfers than he has spent
As a matter of interest, wouldn't it be Cellino buying the ground anyway. It's not as if he's going to make a present of it to the fans, just a different owner instead of bates or teak or whatever
Forza, I was not having a dig about going to matches, at 340 mile round trip yesterday I dont go to as many at ER as I would like and prefer away games.
I know mate, at least we try and make the effort, some in Leeds can't be arsed to walk 10 minutes to the ground
When we play a team off the park I might agree. But it ain't happened yet this year. We won one half yesterday.
