please log in to view this image is this the king of Bahrain ? have you seen this man driving around leeds ?
The Gulf Weekly story gives me the impression he's not a member of the royal family, they mention the royal family, but not in relation to Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa(if he was a member, I'd expect them to mention it, as it would make it a better story), I also notice that the Yorkshire Post is making no royal connection. He might turn out to be the proprietor of a kebab shop in Batley.
Didnt KB buy Leeds Utd for £1 So maybe shiek whatshisname is the owner of a keebab shop in Leeds if he couldnt in 2003 afford £1 whats he offering now in 2012 a Tenner ?
Lots of stories quoting him as being part of the 'ruling family' and I managed to find this story from 2003 when he was said to be interested first time around: It didn't happen back then so fingers crossed it will be different this time around...
Must admit, that hasn't filled me with confidence. If he walked away once when seemingly being that close, no reason it can't happen again. In 2003 the clubs finances were ****e but at least he wouldn't have had to trawl through 17 offshore companies for his due diligence. Really could do with some input from LUST, even to say they still exist. Only for the reports of preseason training starting today, Id have said Leeds and Bates had ceased to exist with the lack of official stuff
A group of Middle Eastern investors are expected to complete a takeover of Leeds United this week. The group is believed to be headed by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa , a member of Bahrain's royal family. The Sheikh is a lifelong supporter of Leeds United and has previously been linked with a takeover of the club in 2003.He eventually failed in his attempts to buy the club with the club stating at the time that they had not received satisfactory evidence that the funds existed for his consortium to buy Leeds United. He is a Leeds fan with a big ego that he cannot support
The alkhalifa family are the rulers of Bahrain. Bahrain is in turmoil at this time, if we get bought by a despot are we happy with that? The money belongs to the people of Bahrain, if a regime change to happen, what if the new regime peruse the assets in foreign lands?
He has tortured every Leeds fan for the past seven years Yes but he has given the rest of Britain a damn good laugh
Sky text sport > Championship > Leeds > News - Reports that Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa is a member of the Bahrain royal family
Looking at a couple of reported targets it would not surprise me However - Number one aim is to get rid of Bates who has been bleeding us dry so with that in mind if you know of a kebab shop owner that could help out send him to LUST for us please...
We can joke about Papa Smurf being a despot, but by comparison to the the rulers from Bahrain, he's a little angel. Whatever the situation, I just want this 'kin' takeover completed. Not happy about Kenny's arrival & presumably Lonners' imminent departure. But we are where we are & Warnock seems to be making progress. Time to get behind him as we approach our first pre-season game.
