If only our midfield was decent... Have to agree there - beginning of the season when Beckford was struggling and we had Sven, he was ****e. Now with Pearson - i.e. someone that can actually motivate players - he is coming good. BTW McCormick is best as a false 9 or deep laying forward player while Beckford is best as a pure striker. Would be awesome together...
Ross and beckford are completely different forward players as someone said. Then again becks plays on the shoulder of the last man whereas ross drops off into midfield, so JB should score more goals...but ross has way more. Id rather have ross atm.
Beckford's first touch can let him down at times (against Derby the other night he resorted to ambitious flicks after miscontrolling a number of times) but if he gets the ball in the box he is very dangerous ... and that's the key, he needs supply in the right area as he is not good at holding / linking play
His touch in the cup v norwich was world class though that set up Nugent, one of his worst touches in a Leeds shirt provided one of his most memorable goals Jan 3rd 2010
...well I hope he stays and battles for his place... 1, it would show he really does want to play for us, and 2 we wouldn't be helping out a team above us, like the DJ deal with Blackpool.. seem mad to me...
Watch Beckford off the ball for us and watch just about every goal we've scored since Pearson arrived. Becks takes defenders away and leaves space for the goalscorer to do his work. He's a very intelligent player (on the pitch, I hasten to add )
Given the way that Mills has played for us the majority of this season, I don't think that we are helping Leeds...
Why are we letting him go to Leeds? if we are paying 100% wages then I would kind of like to see him go to Portsmouth.
...well I'm glad if that's true, still do a job for us, sure he's not been brilliant but a good no frills solid cb... had we got him from Crewe for a half mill we'd have been more than happy I think, although St Ledger and Morgan look very solid and capable... and then here's Bamba, he may be better off in midfield somewhere, .... but in Nigel I trust...
