Elland will leave you with the pink fairies met a couple of american tourists last night (real girlies) so off for a bit
It doesn't put the British in good light that's for sure Purely from a Leeds United point of view the sheer weight of numbers, vociferous support and commitment to support the team is very impressive Just have to look beyond the typical Brits abroad mentality
Think it demonstrates why people dont want to holiday in resorts populated by Brits. Seem to manage to create an uneasy feeling wherever there are big groups. Doubt if the locals where that friendly was being played were thrilled by their presence
Eire it's worth paying more money to avoid the resorts the mob mentality Brits go to, with their skanky wives and screaming kids
Who's to say there weren't a fair number of Irish or Scandinavians there too? They all just look like, and sound like, pissed-up louts.
That's the point of going on tour. Everyone needs a release, don't they? And no innocent people are getting hurt, if anything the team are benefiting from the strong encouragement of the people who've spend their last pennies to schlep all the way to Slovenia and cheer them on in meaningless friendly matches. Full credit to those who went, hopefully I'll be there too next summer. Outside of going on tour, which is a group of lads mentality, I would always prefer to avoid typical British holiday traps like Ibiza, Magaluf, Salou et cetera. Different things for different people. I'd rather visit a relaxing beach than one where lobster-red sweaty compatriots of mine are swilling lager at midday. But we don't have to puritanically frown upon them for doing that, it's their prerogative as long as they don't go over the edge and kick off. All this stuff about being 'ambassadors for your country' is horse dung. You're an ambassador for your family or friend-group, that's it.
