Did you watch the video Thai? Leeds fan walking from the ground with a police escort is smacked with a truncheon in an unprovoked attack. The police were arranged to be there to protect our fans, they didn't come because we were causing trouble.

I'm with Chesh on this one, well out of order and the copper should be cautioned for assault, had a Millwall supporter had got through and clumped that fan with a lump of wood the Police would be using this footage to identify and prosecute him, it won't be too hard to bring this Policeman to book, but will they?.
As someone who has been on the recieving end of a Police truncheon quite a few times i know the pain the Leeds fan will had felt..'OUCH!!!',the copper needs arresting and charging.

What you didn't see on the video was the huge bluebottle that had landed on the back of the guys head. :p

Looks like an unprovoked attack, shame the guy filming it didn't go and film the cooper on the horse.

Hey Simon, of course I watched the clip but that is all it was, a clip, it certainly doesn't paint the whole picture as you only get to see a very small proportion for a very short time. Whether the guy deserved a whack from the Met Cavalry I have no idea. For all anyone knows he may have been pushing his luck for the previous 5 minutes.

Obviously OB was there to provide protection from the restless natives, standard practice. Is that why the Leeds fans were trying to provoke the natives, because they they felt safe? If they were not looking to stir up trouble, why they hell do they just shut up and walk to the ground? To do the very opposite does little more than keep up the image of the away following being mouthy & typically tanked up to a degree, giving it large and trying to provoke a reaction. By that very definition they are tagged as hooligans, and they are not in the minority.

I would like to add..............it is not my intention to single out the Leeds fans, as plenty of other teams fans do the same when they have a reasonably large away following. It makes a statement to the effect - We are "insert team name here", we're on your patch, what ya gonna do about it. Not the behavior of supposedly civilized people.

Having followed Norwich many times on away games I have never seen our fans walk to an away ground and act this way (okay, maybe Ipswich ). I just don't understand the whole tribalism crap that has somehow attached itself to the game.

for most games thai norwich don't have enough away fans to act that way.having said that, every teams fans become brave once inside there little away pen including Norwich, they then become polite again when all 10-15 walk back to there cars.coach seats make people brave though.

How could you possibly know? Based on visits to ER I presume. While our away following is not as large as Leeds Utd's is, it is still pretty large and was probably the 2nd largest in the Championship (not far off your following actually). To say we don't have enough away fans is plain stupid, have a look at MOTD, we sell every away allocation to the max, it's only the lack of tickets made available that is restricting us now <ok>.

    I cannot argue with that.

Yeah, but as much as you despise Leeds Utd. Its not exactly like Millwall are well respected either.
Sat in your degrading slums, witnessing cocaine-fuelled orgy's week in, week out.
Before judging other teams, look at your own. Oh dear...
