I can't be doing with messy multiquotes. Your opinion isn't fact. The Court decision not proving what you claim and not being the only information has been done to death but you're either daft or just unwilling to accept facts that don't match your one eyed opinon. Old leeds were mainly second tier. They're liquidated and exist no more but even if they did, the new leeds would only pull that average further down. They're just facts, not some twisted version. If you can't see why the size of China's no more relevant than the price of fish to an argument about some sad, desperate and fickle individual needing to think a football club buying a bauble somehow imroves their standing in society, then you've surprised me by being a bigger idiot than I had you down as.
The point you're missing is that Leeds fans are ridiculed throughout the country for their constant boasting about what a big club they are. The joke is that Leeds are actually a mediocre Championship club that recently came up from the lower divisions. The beauty of Football is that it is a great leveller. A team like Wimbledon worked their way up the leagues until they were a force in the First Division and won the FA cup against mighty Liverpool. Every club is as big or small as their current position reflects. History is irrelevant, wealth is irrelevant and those who seek comfort from those things rather than actual success are a bit sad.
We've been the top side in Yorkshire for the last 5-6 years and look like we will be established as such for the foreseeable future, Hull City Yorkshire's number 1.
Nice trolling. Even you couldn't be this arrogant to believe you deserve more than other football clubs based on your actions. Clearly fishing. Your team pissed money that wasn't yours up the proverbial wall backed by a crowd of plastic supporters, who weren't interested in following the team when you became unsuccessful. Compare this to a lower league team who are struggling financially, as their local audience become plastic supporters (mainly to Man Utd as let's be fair. No young lads are going to keen to support Leeds are they. They don't have the option to royally **** up the club themselves like you did. And you think you are better than their supporters, who clearly aren't glory supporters, who have never had success and never expect it, yet they turn up every week. ****.
Of course I enjoy rivalries. What I'm saying is that Leeds always use being disliked by Man United (along with the other 90 league clubs) as some kind of proof that they must be big-time. I've honestly never heard another set of fans talk about being hated as if its a good thing like you lot do. All it proves is that there must be a pretty good reason to dislike Leeds. There aren't many ways you could be more lower league than despately trying to compare and associate yourselves with the top clubs. No.
Ok think this answers why your living in a dimming past, the unrealistic hold on whats preceded recent years, `we are a big club because we once played in the top tier !!! what a crock of shyte, take a look at yourself man
Actually no they are not unprovoked. This thread was in reference to unprovoked attacks by your fans blasting a player of ours who played for you. As the person who started this thread you can either trust me or read it all from the begining. I was actually silly enough to think that I could start this thread and nothing would come of it. I knew that lots of people didnt have twitter and I just started it for them so they could see Bruce was being attacked.
From The Guardian, 14-3-2011: "There was a remarkable piece about Don Revie, the former Leeds and England football manager, in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph by the usually excellent Henry Winter. It was remarkable for what it did not say, omitting from what Winter called Revie's controversial life story the most controversial episode of all. For those of you who don't know, Revie made an enormous success of managing Leeds from 1961 until 1974, winning league titles, several cups and European trophies. He then became the England manager, where his record was anything but spectacular, and in 1977 he suddenly resigned - the first man to do so from that post - to manage the United Arab Emirates team. Revie angered the Football Association by selling the news of his resignation to the Daily Mail, before the FA received his formal resignation letter. The FA then suspended Revie from football for 10 years on a charge of bringing the game into disrepute. All this is recounted by Winter but - as with Revie's Wikipedia entry - the real reason for Revie's downfall is airbrushed from history. For the true situation we have to turn to the Daily Mirror cuttings library and the memoirs of the late Richard Stott, a former editor who, in 1977, was one the paper's senior reporters. With evidence from the former Leeds goalkeeper, Gary Sprake, he exposed Revie as a match-fixer. In fact, it was when Revie discovered that Sprake was about to spill the beans that he vanished to the UAE. It's all there in Stott's book, Dogs and Lampposts (memo to Henry: turn to pages 173-181). Once Revie had taken up his job with UAE for £340,000 a year (a colossal sum in those days), other witnesses came forward. One of them, a respected player and manager, Bob Stokoe, told how Revie tried to bribe him to lose a match. By the time Stott had completed his investigation he was able to present the FA with a 315-page dossier cataloguing Revie's long period of corruption. Revie sued the Mirror for libel, but he did not pursue his legal action. The FA simply swept it all under the carpet, though it did issue the ban on Revie. I just can't understand how, in a piece of more than 1,500 words, Winter managed to overlook this key incident, the real reason for Revie's downfall."
Im not even going to bother with the rest of the post that amounts to possibly the worst made arguments I have ever witnessed - and that's saying something - but this one I just couldnt leave...... Truly, the most astonishing comment in the history of mankind. Remind me again why you were docked 10 points just a few years back? Or perhaps you'd like to discuss multiple dossiers of 'brown envelopes'? Or what about Leeds City football club?
I think he was taking the piss with the cheating bit, and the vast majority of the rest of it. Clearly all tongue in cheek.
I concur. Just have a butchers on the Leeds board and this kind of deluded buffoonery is commonplace. They also call you from a pig to a **** for no good reason and go running to the mods like a set of fairies when you give some back. The majority are from Ireland or Scotland so don't really count though.
Although this thread is devoid of facts and just a slagging match between us and the wessies, I had to laugh at their claims they've won the European Cup and that they've been more hard done by their chairman then us.
