I use the term "chav" to refer to individuals who are beneath contempt and not to those who claim benefit or live on council estates.!! Romney is one of those guys, Andrew Mitchell is another!!

Well to avoid confusion, might I suggest some of the other thousands of appropriate words to describe such a person. Words like "twat", "dickhead" or "bellpiece".

This could be the start of another thread Joe!! Vile terms and chants used at football matches!! However the mods might stop it should the posts be over the top. God knows what some Leeds fans were chanting in the direction of Dave Jones ahead of the assault on Kirkland but it must have been pretty vile.

Quite right as well! No doubt once released he'll be back again though. He's ignored bans before.

A football fan has been jailed for 16 weeks after he admitted attacking a goalkeeper during a televised football match. Aaron Cawley, 21, from Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to assault and invading the pitch during Sheffield Wednesday's home match against Leeds United on Friday night.
Not long enough in my opinion.

Agreed, especially as he will be out in 4 weeks probably. Only a 6 year football banning order as well. That is a total disgrace.

There's a simple cure for that. For 6 years, every match day start time he has to report to his local police station for the duration. Every time he misses one he's back in court and then locked up. Have I gone from lenient, straight to harsh..? :)

I'm sure that's one of the conditions but he just flouts it and there isn't sufficient police manpower to run after every scum bag who breaches a bail or sentencing condition.

The club have banned him from Elland Road for life and declared his sentence was too lenient.

Good. I'll be alright then on the 30th for the cup game. I think Leeds will be putting out a strong side for this. I have a feeling that we will play players that haven't been first choice recently or coming back from games (still should be fairly strong), but I wish Nigel would go with our strongest available for this.

    See you on the 30th.

<ok> Think we'll put out a strong side, think the Everton game gave Colin a sniff of glory and he's not wanting to let it go lightly.

Of course, yes he has flouted his previous ban on 3 occasions. I'm hoping we know this because he's obviously been picked up each time. What the authorities need to do is jail him each time he does this.
