Agreed Fran. Jones was clearly very angry and I am sure that he regrets such a sweeping generalisation of Leeds fans. The other thing to factor into this is the fact that he was aware of Warnock encouraging his players to go and applaud the travelling support at the end of the game. After all, this contained the idiot who attacked Kirkland and the ones that had been chanting about the untrue *****phile charges.
Completely agree YWBK, I know many Leeds fans were there or watching were embarrassed, ashamed etc, I would have been if it happened to us. But when details of who he was came out, it was impossible to associate all Leeds fans with one monumental idiot such as him. It's easy to slag all Leeds fans off after that but that kid was barely intelligent enough for the Jeremy Kyle show.
Send him to the USA. The country has a fair abundance of Chavs, one (Romney) is even running for President. One more won't make a difference.
With a bit of luck the Police will be following up this lead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j_xbII-tdo - priceless. Good to know that some people still believe in their civic duty to report what they know rather than the scumbags calling it "grassing". It's the right guy - his Facebook page yesterday was littered with comments from people who know him. The pic matched and his cocky comments matched (right until his Facebook page was removed). It's too high profile for him to get just a talking to. Vin
You wont find one Leeds fan who's proud of what happened
You could edit that to read You won't find any sensible Leeds fans who are proud of what happened, every Club has it's portion of morons, Saints are no different. This lad isn't from Leeds anyway, he should get Pschycological Screening before locking him away, it has happened too often in the past and obviously any detterent tried hasn't worked.
I know, but still no sign of an arrest yet. We will have to wait for the Football League to hold their enquiry, but I have no confidence in them getting anything right, that would be completely against the norm!
You've got to wonder how it can take the police so long to get him when they know everything about him.
Sky just announced that Police have made an arrest with a charge of assault, more when they say more.
Wha? Not that I like the guy, but Romney is pretty much the opposite of a chav. But yeah, send that guy here. He'll fit right in. If there's one thing the US is noted for, it's football hooligans.
I am associating with getting rid of him as an undesirable person living in this country, like Abdul Hamza, not because the USA is in any way connected with football hooliganism!! I realise we can't because he is a "citizen" of this country. Pity!!! As for Romney let's hope the US electorate use their brains and re-elect Obama!
I think the meaning of "chav" has been totally lost on some people. In this country it's violent, ill-educated oxygen thieves who live in council houses (Council House And Violent). To be honest I hate the term because it gives people who claim benefits a really bad name. Welfare is a good thing and we shouldn't be so dismissive of it. I guess the American equivalent would be people who live in "the projects". Considering Mitt Romney is a super-wealthy libertarian who strongly opposes government intervention such as welfare, he is the polar opposite of a "chav". Now please never use that word again.
Chav is a gyppo word, not an acronym. And Romney a libertarian? Please. He's a big state conservative.
Well I don't know how it started, but that's how it was popularised by the British mass media. And Romney is opposed to universal healthcare and welfare, he wants lower taxation and lower government spending. Those are all libertarian principles. Though he doesn't go as far as the tea party lot, he is very right-wing. He's not merely a fiscal conservative. To be honest, he changes his stance so much it's hard to tell what he really believes. Also I don't think you're supposed to say "gyppo".
