Lee Mansell has taken charge of Gloucester City after Paul Groves was sacked after Gloucester's defeat against Gateshead. Gloucester City have lost their last 5 games and are 20th in the table.

I would like to wish Lee all the very best and hope he is able to turn around Gloucester's fortunes and have a successful start to his managerial career

Watched Lee at Mangotsfield this afternoon in the annual memorial game featuring Gas Legends. Tell you what, he still looks pretty nifty and a good player to boot - a class act then and now, wish him every success at Gloucester. (He could still put in a half decent shift for our current team, if we were to give him a shout!)

When we were getting ready to drop into the conference we played Torquay and he bossed the mid field and my immediate thought was get him signed up and we might just come straight back up, the rest as they say is history

Good luck to him. A lot of people seem to have tipped him as a future manager, so this is a good first foot on the ladder.

Just read that the attendance at Mangotsfield yesterday for the Gas Legends charity match was 2,089. Fantastic effort by everyone - thats more than some clubs get for a league game! Don't know if this was due to the away win on Saturday, the fact that DC was manager of the legends side, the sun was shining or a combination of all 3. Either way it was a fantastic afternoon and aswell as being a worthy cause, was an entertaining game to watch.

Unfortunate start for Lee at Gloucester City today. They lost 1-0 to Isthmian league side Folkstone, after having a player sent off. Apparently, this was a shock win for Folkestone, and they now progress to the next round.

He can concentrate on the league now and move them up the table, he only had a few days to put his ideas forward to them and get them to play in the way he wants them to
