I think that is the straw that broke the camels back.... The first half showed the need for action...he did nothing. I am also beginning to wonder if the news that Defoe could be signing was another issue with LJ as he clearly didn't want him

    Can I just say.

Absolutely **** NO to Duncan Ferguson.

What even makes people think hes worth considering is beyond me. Also let's let some other foolish chairman get dazzled by the pr that the first female manager would bring. It's like folk round here are loading guns and pointing them straight at their feet.

Not sure if this has been mentioned as I've just came on for a catch up, but some lass tweeted John Terry and asked if he was coming to Sunderland and he has liked the comment. Probably nothing like.

Imagine the meeting, sacking a female manager, she bursts into tears. Everyone gets uncomfortable. 'There there, we'll give you a few more months.'

Well the problem we have is that the best candidates will have options either coming up or right now.

They will almost all be outsiders, and they will look at us and see a club which has had three different owners in the last few years, and the revolving door keeps revolving for the managers.

We can all look at it and see many of them should either not have been here in the first place, or were due the axe when it fell.

But managers have to be careful, as a couple of failures, sometimes just one bad one, and you're history; there is always another wanting a go. So the good ones, those who think they will get other offers, might want to skirt the instability here, as they are bound to see it.

Not the best of times. But I hope we go for someone who can handle life here, and in the championship if and when we ever get there.

I'm not sure some of the obvious names with League One experience will be the right choice. We deserve to be where we are, but it's different here to most clubs down at this level. You have to be big enough to handle it, and not many are.

I hope whoever it is people but their personal opinions to one side (Barton aside) and give the person a fair crack

Totally agree. Mick should have been given a better opportunity here in the past, but that doesn't mean that we should give it him now. Time moves on.

Might know sooner than later if Ferguson fancies a new challenge.

I always watch the full 90 minutes on a Sunday afternoon even after I have been to the game on the Saturday. This is the first game I have just watched the highlights and that was enough for me. We were a bloody disgrace.

Not followed fergusons career as a coach much, he's been caretaker on a couple of occasions and rumours are that the players wanted him kept on.
When I first heard his name mentioned I thought exactly the same but the more you hear things about him as a coach he seems to be quite well respected .
If he's happy working under our set up then I'd be happy to give him a try as I say I don't have a clue about him as a coach but it seems the people that do seem to rate him

Just read something suggesting Johnson was Luke warm about him and the reason nothing had been announced as he had made it clear to Defoe he would not be guaranteed any football. Maybe he won’t be a starter every week but what an impact sub for the last 30 mins! I Still reckon he will be fitter than most in the league even at 39 and would be more than capable of dictating a game.
