As l mentioned before, this will all end in tears; he will not sign, and he will walk away from Charlton at the end of January
Bowyer's mantra is that the club needs to move forward. That's the key to whether he signs or not imo.
These players like Hemed & Oztumer are starting to p1ss me off. Bowyer said after the game we had too many kids out there yesterday. He’s right - but what does that say about the likes of Oztumer & Hemed & the perennial sicknotes JFC ?
We signed Hemed in desperation right at the end of the summer window, a bit like those strides purchased on the last day of the closing down sale ….. there's a reason why they are still in the shop on the last day.... because they are sh1t!
The alarm bells started ringing for me when we laughably underbid for the Blackpool striker. £325,000 .....
No matter what division we are in next season we need a big clear out of players. Players I would let go. Solly, Matthews if we stay in Championship, Page, Forster- Caskey, Hamed, Sarr. Purrington, Oztumer and Aneke are not good enough for the Championship and should be sold. The loan players should all be returned to their parent clubs with the exception of Cullen who we should sign if we stay in the Championship. Our squad needs a big revamp in the Summer if we want to a) Progress in the Championship. B) Get promotion from League 1
My imagination isn’t vivid enough to even picture the nightmare that would be Charlton back in League One next season.
It would not surprise me if ESI are thinking about pushing the panic button and sacking Bowyer, this would be a bad idea of course. They are caught between looking at results and who they would have discussed to bring in, and realising they could open up a whole can of worms if they bullet Bowyer.
To be fair, we were told that Blackpool had doubled their asking price compared to that previously agreed after we had enquired about him initially. That was why we only offered a smaller figure (so l am led to believe).
Regardless of our January transfer dealings, it is absolutely bizarre that ESI still haven’t got Lee Bowyer’s new contract sorted. Why is there such a delay ? This should have been sorted weeks ago.
Bowyer stated 2 weeks ago that 'one or two calls should sort it out' That obviously has not happened. I have said many a time that something is wrong behind the scenes, and he will not sign the contract; and that he will be gone by the end of the window.
Matt Southall also said that he was getting together with Lee’s agent before the West Brom game. Were they discussing Brexit or what ?
Bowyer said last week that he was concentrating on the Preston game. Presumably he's now concentrating on the Fulham game.
