You can justify these last 20 mins negative tactics in the Championship....I remember going to places like Blackburn & Reading last season when it was like the Alamo in our box and Bowyer was trying everything to defend our lead. But now he’s doing it regardless of the opposition....and so poorly. Swindon were absolute dog ****e ...just like Shrewsbury & all the others. He’s got to learn.
That was the head in hands moment you knew we weren't going to attack any more, and Swindon were going to be invited to attack us. It would have been tough with the first choice defence but ffs, Swindon lost their last four, and we were hiding round our box. I hope this time Bowyer has the balls to admit that was his mistake.
it was inevitable after he bought on two defenders. we have played a lot of bottom teams recently and always gone defensive for the last third of the game. it's never worked. i'm sick of it. when the goal went in the only thing that surprised me was that it was in the 90th minute, not the 91st to 95th. should be walking this league with the quality we have and the quality of the other teams around us. that draw was 2 points lost and probably made LB rethink what his strongest 11 is. 17 games in and we still have no clue.
14 points lost last season, 4 this season so far. It is too many whatever the perspective of LB and needs to change.
Criticism of his tactics is different from calling for Bowyer's head. I guarantee you that the majority of Charlton fans were unhappy to see Purrington and especially Matthews come on. The writing was on the wall from that moment.
Accepted. But (for the sake of a balanced argument) do we have a list of the number of games won by a late Charlton goal in the last 12 months? I'd compile one myself but I'm a bit busy right now...
Bow's view on last Saturday's substitutions Charlton boss Lee Bowyer explains thinking behind substitutions during draw at Swindon – South London News (londonnewsonline.co.uk)
Bowyer says that several clubs have asked about Oztumer in January. Very poor player. Take whatever is being offered.
